Description I thought I should draw one of these animals again. It's a creature called dexter .

They may be small but these creatures have more guts than any other living in the same wide forests. Wandering alone among dark coniferous trees by nights doesn't scare a young male dexter. Brave animal doesn't be afraid of even moraine wolves howling or freezing cold air. It's surely the prince of these areas.

Modified Photoshop 7 (yes it can do something what other version seven don't).

...Guess what, I used the drawing tablet for this.
From the times when I found MS Paint in Windows 95 I've drawn all digital art with a mouse. I've never feel necessary to get a tablet mainly because I'm a traditional junkie in most of time, tablets are expensive and I thought mouse is good.
But two weeks ago I got a choise to borrow a tablet for free as long as I want, so of course I catch what I could.
And I have to say this: respect for the people who do their digital art with a mouse. Tablet makes everything just ridiculously easy. I know what I'm talking, last 14 years I've done everything with a mouse and surely see the difference now. Tablet experts who think it's the same which one you have can keep their shuts up. Of course mouse is harder, tablet gives possibility to natural hand moving. |p ... So of course it feels nicer too.
... This one I have is cuite interesting... 1) I heard it's been year and a half unused in a drawer. Then it started to work at the moment I plugged the USB in my laptop. 2) Sometimes it works dysfunctionally; keeps on drawing eventhough I don't touch it but just move the pen above it. Needs some shaking or poking before it quits. 3) It's a such big, about 21,5cm x 16,5cm (8.5inch x 6,5inch) and needs a such heavy pressing before it does anything (or vice versa like I said in last part)... 4) I've never heard this kind of tablet before...NGS it's there somewhere. 5) After all it feels like just done for me. Electonical widgets with personality are nice - finally nobody than you can use them correctly (you should see my microwave oven and printer...my scanner is one very humble slave instead). |p

I do have respect for people whouse mouses (respect for anyone who puts effort into anything basically) since those kind of people moved out of the "comfort zone"

About the picture:
The overall piccy has that kind of "fear Dexter" thing to it. Plus the expression on Dexter is just "I'm on the hunt" kinda thing where almost anything that moves seems edible

but either I look into picutres too much or the claws of the right paw are biggger than the ones onn the left...?

Well, dexters are beasts after all. |p And good ones. ... *was going to say something clever but lost the main thought*

...No nitpicking please. With that there's mistakes in every single picture can be found under this sun. I'm developing the entirety. Besides after I've fixed this thing twice after it supposed to be finished I don't really care what is there anymore...

sorry, MoA, were's my manners? just thought that since well, you get sooooooo many "looks nice" comments I thought some crituqe would be nice but I guess i'm nickpicking more than crituqeing eh?

plus If I look into pictures too much I might to get glasses soon for all the time i've spent staring at the screen.

Shht, claws were a bit different size, but, daily nitpicking amount was filled already (though it's not too much anyway). |> Nuff said.

...Prefer the entirety with details, I'd say...

Aww Dexter returned <3

Tablets make digital work reeealy easier. But they are expensive, at least the good ones. Hmm.. Maybe it´s wrong but I think, no way how cheap a tablet is, it will be aklways better than a mouse ID Mouses are made for many things but definitive not for drawing. Tablets are the digital pencils <3 And that you "get" (or borrow) one for free is just fine.

Easy background just works fine here, moon is like always pretty, Dexters eye shines like star and his anatomy and whole pose is perfect... And how it looks like MoA can even draw fur just fine without any problems .__." (<-- Always when I have to draw fur I took mouse once again and use this smudge tool-thing. I just can´t draw fur.)
Errr... what I wanted to say now: I just can´t find any kind of "mistakes" or things which don´t fit, no way how long I stare at this pice.
Urgh.

...
The hell. Why on earth I have to be that lazy with writing anything? .__." When you submited these pretty creature references many hours ago (and I still didn´t find the right words to write anything... but it will follow, in any time) and I´ve seen this new shade style I just wondered about it. It looked a lot like you´ve worked with a tablet... But now it´s of course not a wonder anymore if I would write anything about that shade style and guess that you´ve used one. Time is over, you hvae already told it.
*Head meets desk*
Lazyness is teribble ⌐.⌐

I don't abandon any critter I've ever made. |> Just can't do that...

Fur = paint paint paint burn dodge smudge smudge smudge...

You? Lazy? Then I'm possibly brain dead... |x

There many artists who create in one month more creatures than you in one year... But I think that less creatures are better than many fast cerated ones. Your creatures gets a lot of attention from you <3~

Very nice background. I've always Appreciated night scenes because I always figured getting the lighting right was harder for these then day scenes, but I don't know i'm no expert on anything. I Love the snow or is it those weird puff flowers people Love to blow and scatter about? The clouds encircling the moon just helps make this picture all the more Beautiful. Along with the details to Dexters fur and the trees in the background. Well done!

Wow, a tablet. How do you ever find the time to complete your pictures and balancing school and work?! That would take some skill.

Textures, perspective, light effect... All on this looks awesome.

I think digital tablets aren´t better than mouse (I use mouse). Many people think that if you have a tablet you´ll draw nice, and it´s not true. If you´re good your pics will be good. If you don´t know how to draw your draws will sucks with or without tablet...

One of the best ways of the tablet in my opinion are the details. With the tablet you can do in seconds some details that are HARD to do with a mouse. For example, the fur with mouse is a pain. With tablet is easier, i believe. And the effect is different too.

Thanksies. <3
Let's say...If you ever get a change to try a tablet (or borrow it, it needs a couple of hours to get familiar with it), do it. But it's dangerous - I survived well with a mouse until I tried that tablet... <.<' ...Yes, fur is much nicer to do.
