Description From Alan Dean Foster's Pip & Flinx series.

I'm aware the antenna don't look feathery, that's the result of following the style I intended to use on the piece.

Still looks good.  Damn, I wish you could animate it.

I could animate this guy, it just wouldn't be easy.

You seem capable of going to heavy details as indicated by this concept. I wonder, could you animate this?

The most complex looking traditionally made animation I've ever done was a cricket walking. So a yes would be my guess.

You should try it. I really think you should. I'm going to away for awhile to see Man Of Steel. I think people should work together to promote joint efforts.

Maybe later, it might be a fun little project to do with the new camcorder. Yes, I know I could do the work solely digitally. But I don't know, getting a tape based camcorder for the first time in years has me feeling nostalgic.

Systemcat, I am going to use your drawing as a guide for me when I start drawing the Thranx. Again, excellent work you have done.

iiiih it's a scary bug D:
but awesome work on him, love the details. it also kinda looks like he's talking to someone, waving his upper arm towards the speaking partner

Thank you . Well I've been drawing & art projects since before my memories even start. In other words I've been an artist my whole life. Rarely a day goes by when I'm not doing some form of project.

Also thanks for the faves .

Really interesting concept, they have that many limbs?

Well I had the basic image in my head for how I believed them to look. Shorter than humans, six legs, valentine shaped head, feathery antenna, with breathing openings located about midway on the upper body. The thing is before I draw fan art from books I always check descriptive reference to confirm my memory. One website I encountered noted them with four sets of legs which is some thing I don't remember but added in any way.
