Wow, maybe the best interpretation of him I ever saw. But he's not the god of death, he's god of forest, wealth, cattle, poetry and... just a horned snakelike dude that, being one of the most important gods of Slavic pantheon, for some reason stand against Perun. Haha, there are so contradictious concepts about him. So, just thank you for such good and interesting picture of him!

Aw thank you Veles is many things but he is also the ruler of Nav - the underworld (it's not necessarily a negative function since Nav is described to be a place of eternal spring and vast green plains). Similar battles like the one between Perun and Veles are shown in most of mythologies of Indo-European origin (which show rivalry between the two highest and opposing deities) and the story is similar to battle between Christian God and Devil

Or between Ra and Apep, between Thor and Jormungand, and so on. Smth that will be always and everywhere. Right you are.
What I really like in your interpretation is his sly expression and young appearance. What I don't like in most images of Slavic gods is that they are presented as old bearded men in armor. It. Is. Not. The only true concept/representation. At all.
