They didn't break them up, they rebooted Superman as a result of the events of the Flashpoint mini-series Lois & Clark will get together one day, but not now.

You say potato, I say potahto. They chose what to keep and what to change when they rebooted the DC Universe. It's not like they went back to Square One with everything. Is Dick Grayson 12 years old and Robin again? No. They could have chosen to keep Lois and Clark's marriage (and the fact that she knows the truth about him) intact when they rebooted the DCU. But they chose not to, and they undid decades-worth of growth in the process. So, yes, they did break them up. And they probably will decide to put them back together at some point, but that doesn't change the fact that they broke them up in the first place.

Sure! I'll start with how long they were married, which the easier question to answer. Lois and Clark got married in Superman: The Wedding Album, which was published in December of 1996. The reboot which was launched this September undid their marriage, so they were married for a little less than 15 years.
As for how long they were a couple... that's much harder to answer. Lois first appeared in the very first Superman comic (Action Comics #1) which was published in June 1938, and they went on their first date in that very first issue. So, you could count from then and say they were a couple for over 73 years. However, that wouldn't really be perfectly accurate because over the years they were broken up, separated, and even briefly killed off various times, so it's not like they've been together ever since. Plus DC Comics has had quite a few reboots and relaunches over the years to complicate things.
In 1985, DC launched a big, complicated reboot called "Crisis on Infinite Earths" which reset the history of the DC universe and created the version of continuity which was canon until now. Post-Crisis, Clark first asked Lois out in Superman #43, and their first date and first kiss were in Adventures of Superman #466, both of which were published in May 1990. And there were still a few ups and downs after that, but basically they've been a couple since then.
So, basically, even if you want to be *really* conservative in your estimate, they've been a couple for over 20 years. And since Lois has been Clark's main love interest since 1938, you could really argue it's a LOT more than that. Their history speaks for itself at this point.
