buy an old book, make the buckles from fimo - paint them and glue them on ^^
takes some patience but it's not impossible

I still have the top ones left over but they are only for decoration so far - and don't really the time to make new ones atm
but it's not hard to make all you need is some gold FIMO and some patience ^^

it's atually pretty easy ;D
get some cardboard, draw down the design, cut it out
get some FIMO, roll it out flat - draw the design of cardboard on it, cut it out. add little balls and pieces for the relief, cut out some pieces that are supposed to go deeper
then burn it in the oven
once that is done, paint it
let it dry
glue it on a book

I wouldn'd recommend painting it - since you should try and find a book that has a leather or leatherlike binding and colour --> which is impossible to draw over
search until you find a good book - antique shops usually have tons of old and cheap books as long as you don't care about the contents inside ^^

Sounds fun! But I heave this problem that I like old books a lot and I don't dare doing anything to them :'|. Bought an old Hans Christian Andersen book the other day, from 1900 or something(the book itself was very very vague yet huge and awesome) and it's in old danish and just looking at it makes me proud of it... but I still it sounds so fun since I want to have a magical book! Hn..  maybe I can find one online..?

People in the olden times where awesome! Being able to make books without machines or anything..!

if anything I can make you the buckle things - the golden ones, and you can buy your own book and stick them on ^^
(but I'm still working on a few for a friend, coz I'm slow and they are taking ages)

nope, it's mine
but I do take comissions for the buckles alone (you can easily glue them on any book you like )
but the whole set of buckles takes a long time to make (since I'm busy with work LOL) but if you are interested note me and we can talk about the price (u have to take in consideration the price of FIMO for example, it's about 3,- each package and I need at least two to make them)

I could make you the pieces for the book, it's easy to glue them on, you just have to give me the details of your book then thickness, size and all that stuff ^^
