- Don't take anything at face value

- Don't reject something just because it's different
- Making out is always more fun than fighting
- Breakups aren't the end of the world
- Chin stubble is more friendly than a goatee

- Be careful when snowboarding or during any other dangerous physical activity
- There's nothing like depression to bring out the poet in you
- Driving after outdoor sex in LA is not a good idea
- Long distance relationships suck
- Listen to all types of music, and try again the bands you didn't like a long time ago
- Go to concerts as often as humanly possible
- Don't stereotype
- Make friends who are just as weird as you are
- Don't sweat the small stuff
- Playing guitar is great
- Toothpaste really doesn't work on zits
- Just because you're underchallenged doesn't mean you can't overachieve
- Celebrities are just people
- Writing is a great way to get it all out
- Music can help when nothing else will
- Don't lie to people; it hurts
- Karma does exist and will come back around and bite you in the ass
- Horoscopes are often freakishly true
- Do little things "just because"
- Just because someone doesn't shower you with gratitude doesn't mean they aren't thankful
- Don't be so selfish
- Wear white pants; they look really good
- You're always changing - even your handwriting - you and your friends both need to accept that
- Let other people change too - none of this "stay just the way you are" crap
- Mild swearing in front of parents is okay
- Contacts aren't so bad once you get used to them
- The Pill isn’t the worst thing in the world once you pass the side-effects stage
- If film is exposed, take a few pictures to skip past the exposed part
- Make doubles of everything
- Always do your math homework
- Don't start an essay at 11:00 the night before it's due
- Faking sick won't get you out of anything
- Be open minded and try anything once
- Exercise or all that work on your abs will not show
- Guys can be hot even if they don't have chiseled abs
- Go with your instincts on matters of the heart
- Learn to think about yourself once in a while too, not just other people
- Don't be passive; know your limits and stick to them (especially sexually)
- Don't overinvest yourself in relationships; try to keep perspective
- If you attend summer school, treat it like school and not a side project
- Read unorthodox poetry (e.e. cummings is a genius)
- Sometimes the only way to let it out is a good cry
- Be nice to your parents and family; your actions reflect your personality
- If a friend is in drug trouble too deep to get out of alone, get him/her help
- Friends should always come before boyfriend
- Treat people to ice cream
- It's sometimes more fun to give than to receive
- If you're on the receiving end, don't ask for too much - nothing like good old greediness
- Don't stay with a job that underpays or that you dislike
- Smile as much as you can
- Keep a dream journal; dream analysis is NOT total baloney
- Cheese toast is great (and Tab is fab)
- Denny’s at 2:00am is a great idea
- Life is joy; live it up
