Description
      Bri was going to the dentist when she saw her. As Bri pulled into the parking lot she was overcome with a weird feeling. Bri drove around to the far side of the parking lot to park. While she was parking she looked out the window and thought she was seeing an angel. Compelled by a need to talk to the angel, she got out of her car and walked over.
      Bri heard growling by the angel and noticed she was crying. Bri was fearful of the dog but she kept walking to the sullen angel. Bri knelt to the ground and hugged the angel. It was then that she realized the angel was more mortal than immortal. "What's your name?" Bri asked.
      The girl, instead of answering started rambling, "I can't take it anymore...I can't do it..." Stunned by thegirl's response, Bri took the girls hand and said, "Tell me about it, what's wrong?" The girl at first didn't seem willing to speak but after a few moments of silence the girl began, "I can't stand my house anymore. My parents are always fighting and my sister is obnoxious. I get yelled at everyday and when I get home I am greeted by a cold shoulder."
      "My mom picks at everything I do and the minor things that may be wrong..." The girl started sobbing so hard that she couldn't speak. Bri sat down next to the girl and pulled her closer so the girls head was resting on Bri's shoulder. Bri started singing, "I gave my love a cherry that had no stone..." The girl interupted Bri, "How do you know that song?" "It was sung to me when I was younger...why?" "Nothing really, just a song I know."
      When the girl was silent Bri started singing again. By the time Bri finished the song the girl had fallen asleep. Bri began to move the girl but she heard growling again. She looked around and spotted the dog. Even it, though looking angry, was beautiful to Bri.
      "Should have known," she whispered. She picked up the girl and grabbed a hold on the leash to take the dog and its owner to Bri's car. She opened the back door and let the dog jump in first before laying the girl down on the seat. Bri rummaged around for a blanket to cover the girl with before she herself got in the front seat to turn on the heat. Afraid that the girl would wake up and leave and Bri would never see her again, she waited in the car instead of going to her appointment.
      The girl slept for what seemed like eternity to Bri but in all actuallity could have been no longer than two hours. When the girl woke up she wondered out loud, "Where am I?" Bri, not wanting to scare the girl said quietly, "You're in my car. You were crying and fell asleep on my lap. You started to get cold so I turned the heat on in my car and layed you down with a cover over you."
      When the girls eyes looked wildly around Bri piped up, "I brought your dog in too." It took a moment for the information to sink in. "Thank you very much," she paused, "Er...I feel bad, I never got your name." Bri was excited that the girl wanted to know her name but she contained it and with an even voice said, "My name is Brianna but you can call me Bri, what's your name?" "My name is Jess and my dogs name is Haley. Um...you wouldn't happen to know what time it is would you?" Jess asked.
      "It is about...five o' clock, why?" "Oh, shoot! My parents are gonna kill me! I've been gone for three hours!" Bri got out of the front seat and slid into the back and took Jess's hand, "Calm down Jess, if you need a place to stay I have an extra room." "I just really need to get home right now." Jess took the blanket off and grabbed a hold of her dog's leash. "Hey, here's my number. You can call me any time you need."
      Jess opened the door and got out of Bri's car. She started walking away but then turned around and said, "Thank you very much for comforting me. Will you meet me here tomarrow at three?" Bri's face lit up, "Yeah sure, I can be here at three." "Okay, see you tomarrow." Jess said as she started to run home. Bri watched her until Jess went around a bend in the road before getting back in the front to leave.
      When Bri pulled into the parking lot at her apartment she saw her agent Ron and remembered she had a photo shoot at five. "Oh shoot! Damn it, I can't believe I forgot!" she mumbled before she got out of the car. Before she could even say 'hi' Ron started talking. "Brianna Mae Dove, where have you been?" he practicly yelled. "Ron, I can explain..."
      "Can you now?" "Yes!" "Well then, let's have it!" Ron shouted. "I had a dentist appointment and when I got there I saw this girl. Now, its not what you think. She was crying and I went over to make sure she was okay." Bri said almost out of breath. Ron's face got red, "That's not a proper excuse Brianna. Do you even understand what this shoot would have done for you?" "Yes I do, but I forgot and..." "I don't want to hear it, lucky for you they had it rescheduled. This time be there, it's tomarrow at four thirty sharp!" Ron continued, "Get inside now before you catch a cold otherwise you'll mess up your shoot."
      "Go to hell!" Bri muttered. "What was that?" Ron asked. "I may bring someone to watch." Bri said before closing the door and locking it so her agent couldn't object.
