The Combat Automatic Rifle Model 450 Compact is a short barreled, almost PDW sized, version of the CAR 450 assault rifle chambered in the venerable .223/5.56mm Remington cartridge, historically also referred to as 5.56mm NATO. The weapon was made for police agencies, militias and private security companies operating in remote areas where 5.56x45mm can be expected to deal with any relevant threats but is also quite popular with small space ship crews both to deal with potential intruders and as a compact survival weapon. Interestingly it does not use STANAG magazines. This particular gun has been equipped with various aftermarket accessories.
