I miss the warm weather and the bright colors of summer.
So... an Arcanine that I tried to put in the typical Fu Dog positon. He's deep in thought, hoping that he'll bring good luck to 'his' city.
Yeah. Look at the Arcanine. At nothing else, it might endanger your eyesight. BG = sucks bigtime.
There was actually painted fur on that Arcanine but it disappeared when I shrank the picture, as always.

What materials did you use for your piece? Currently I have only used pen, pencil, soft pastels, and occasionally Β colored pencils, but I would like to improve my artwork to make it look better like your stuff and some of the other artists on DA

If you are a student, you can get it at only 25% of the normal price. But there are free alternatives that I personally haven't used. Paint Tool Sai for example, or GIMP. People do amazing stuff with them. The more important tool is the tablet & pen. That's the only part where I'd say go for the brand article and get a Wacom. I had others, they all broke after a year. My Wacoms never had any technical difficulties.

I like Arcanines and i have one on Lv100! Those buildings in the background just need a bit more colors but it's already okay.

Anyway, I'm glad you said yes, because I already drew it on with a pencil :>
Of course the textures won't be there, since I'm not that good at actual painting, only digital but hey :>.. As long as it looks like an arcanine ehe!

The creatures Arcanine was based off of were always in pairs.
Koma-Inu - The "male" statue of the pair had a ball under one paw and the "female" had a cub.
Shisa - Shisa are wards, believed to protect from some evils. When in pairs, the left shisa traditionally has a closed mouth, the right one an open mouth. The open mouth wards off evil spirits, and the closed mouth to keeps good spirits in.
Long story short, the shisa and koma-inu are a variations of the Fu Dog.
