As I have lots of scraps of dyed fabric left over, I realized that I had enough of a chunk of the aqua silk I dyed last week to make a pair of wings for dolls, too!

These wings are for 60cm dolls. The dressform they are pictured on was one of the final projects from my Casting and Molding class this last semester (I'll post clearer pictures of it later), and is a direct cast of a full-busted torso of a Luts 60cm Delf girl, and the form is set to the exact same height as the dolls are, too, so these are the scale they would be on your doll.

I don't have pix of it on a doll, because she's still in pieces from that project, and my boy just looked angry with the wings on~

I can see how they fit on the 45cm dolls, as well, although they might be a little large.

Anywho, these are made the same way as all of the wings I've been making - wire frame with a scroll at the base that slides into a corset (or, in this case, ribbon tied around under the bust) or some other bodice to hold them on. They can easily be rigged, however, to be on a harness. Lightweight silk makes up the wings, and unfortunately, it's really, really hard to get pictures of this light of a mottling - it is a mottle of aqua blue and a light, sky blue. I will try to get better shots with the full-sized wings coming up in the next day or two.

There are three petals per wing on this one - adding more made the frame a little bulky where they all join up. The tails at the bottom swoop down into little curlies, which are completely unintentional but I love, and plan on doing with a person-sized pair next.

I'll be able to do these in any color, as well, just like the big wings. And, if you want a pair of wings for yourself, and a pair for your doll to match, out of the same dye-lot, I can do that for you easily (and cut you a deal on them, too!)
