Good morning, everyone! I meant to upload this last night, but... yeah. Distracted by sleep!So, here is the Vash wig - the same one from the scrap, only this time on a styrofoam head and, of course ~kellin Lucky we still have a red jacket floating around
This was the second cosplay wig I've made, done to test some advice given to me from the wigmaster we had some workshops with at school. It is a femme fatal wig base (this one, actually!) that was chopped down and heavily styled.
The original picture I had of this wig was a little weird - it was on a styling block, and that seemed to throw some people off because it's so odd to see a shape like that without a face for reference. It also doesn't hurt to have the wig on someone, since I don't have a lifesized manniquine (yet!).
Did I even spell that right?
The little bit of cap you can see round the edge in the back gets hidden by your ears, but it is still visible upon close inspection. This is something I will rectify in the future, if I get any more commissions for this wig. Also, I'd have left the back "danglies" a bit longer, but that was a "my bad" with the scissors.

I love this, I tried to make vash's wig and failed horribly and I'm on a limited time frame... : c Darn it I wish I had 75$ I'd buy this in a heart beat. You did an amazing job. Still could you PM me how you made this one in detail it just so darn good.

Ooh! Eeew... I've done the same thing, but it is a little icky when you think about it!
How was it styled? WIth products (hairspray, etc) or prestyled/with heat? That changes how you can wash it, depending on if there is any product that can be washed out...

It's been styled with TONS of product. Mostly gel but with some wax. It wasn't prestyled with heat... I didn't want the wig set in any one style. It's a short black wig that I used to wear to cosplay as guys.

Nope, not yet - I will during the school year, when we have more wigs to wash, because it's just easier. Or maybe I'll do that this week - I got my Yuna wig dusty and kinda icky, and should definitely clean it up *sigh* But I definitely will!

The blonde is a little bright, but otherwise I think you did a wonderful job with the styling. The way it's been spiked looks natural and yet like the original character's hairdo without looking too ridiculous. <3

Oh, yeah - it's amazingly, blindingly bright! It's actually painfully yellow, but it was the only character I could think of

Well, holding it in spikes is a combination of hairspray and spray clear laquer ^^ It was also steamed into the rough shape, to get it to stick out moreso, so that baby isn't going ANYWHERE! I swear it!

I'm like terrified to cut this wig....or use something like laquer (I'm afraid of messing up -- this is my second try at styling, I washed the Got2BeGlued out from attempt #1 and I'm having another go). I wish there was a class, Gravity Defying Hair 101.

Hehe, you know what? I think I might do a wig for Sauske, just because it's similar to the Vash one, and take pictures of my (horribly, horribly un-scientific) whacking at the wig with the scissors and mutillating it! I'm not much with scissors, it's definitely a scary point. But with this one, I just, well, kinda did it. The laquer, tho, you can't wash out, which is why I set it how I liked it with hair spray (which you can) and then, after it was all good, I layered on the clear varnish like crazy

I don't think it's too possible to change it - I think I did sweep it back more than it should have been, I just wanted to avoid the "stove pipe" head look I've seen
