Hinata Shouyou x Imaginary!Reader [Older!AU]

The once luminescent girl is nothing more than a shell of her former self. Her once glowing is no longer radiant. Formerly silky hair is dry and hangs limply.

Her eyes watch the boy she spent much of her young life with. A grin that is brighter than the sun, and a jump that surprises all his opponents. The short oranged hair boy is no longer a boy, but a man. And he is all grown up.

[Name] sits quietly in the corner, a quick upwards curve of the lips every time the volleyball player successfully lands a spike. She remembers when he had first started practicing, it seems so long ago. Because it is.

His eyes do not look at her any more. His thoughts do not involve her. She is being forgotten.

        She stares down at her body, translucent and blurred. The female frowns once more. Has she always been like this?

[Name] silently follows the spiker. He is bundled in a trench coat, and an orange scarf that matches his respective hair color. She wonders where he is going.

It seems that time has froze when she catches sight of a cute, brown haired girl approaching him. She recognizes her from the volleyball magazines that are littered around Hinata's apartment.

Her eyes widen as she watches the scenes unfold in front of her. She feels a stab in the heart as a kiss is pressed against Hinata's cheek. The pain worsens as a scarlet color blooms across his face.

He turns around, now directly facing [Name]. Her eyes widen. Has he finally noticed her?

"Hinata?"

        The males blinks for a moment as the other female asks what's wrong. He only smiles and shakes his head.

"It's nothing."

She allows herself a smile as she watches from afar. Hinata's team has made it to nationals. It has always been his dream for that to happen.

Suddenly, her vision blurs. She blinks but that does not help. An invisible forces pulls her backwards, a voice in her head beckoning her to leave. [Name] refuses. This is the moment she has always hoped to see.

That does not matter. Her body shakes, and becomes completely transparent. Her entire body begins to disappear.

[Name] realizes what is happening. Hinata Shouyou has completely forgotten her. She has always known this day would come. The girl no longer fights. Her eyes burn, but she does not cry. Instead, she smiles. It is what Hinata would have wanted her to do.

        "Goodbye."

        She fades away.
