So dark and brooding! Perfect for an epic tale!

Thank you. When I visit these places I feel compelled to touch the stone, it's like being in touch with the people who built and lived in the place. I try to convey through my images not just the scene itself but the mood and feelings that I felt in that place. I dont know if this particular castle saw any battle or needed to be defended or if it was a happy place for the occupiers but it put me in a dark frame of mind.

I have had that happen to me when I visit the old Native American ruins in our Southwest. Especially the Anasazi ruins. They had a practice of placing a handprint next to the front doorway, to show the spririts that this house is taken- "stay out!"

I placed my hand on their prints and I could swear I feel soemthing of their personality! There are many things we do not understand about our world, and our God (s), Isn't that wonderful! The quest continues...

The whole thing is quite intrigueing, I think I have spitituality but not religion. I have no need for belief in devine creators, I'm happy that I exist and believe I will continue to exist untill the last person who has a memory of me is gone.

I'm dying to get my wide angle at some of these towers, castles, ruins etc. I shot the tower in Florida but the light was too bright and the stone too light and it was all washed out.

That's a shame, you should have used the polarisor and maybe a ND filter.

Yeh, at that time I didn't have the filters for my wide angle.

What filters do you have for the wide?

I now have one neutral density, the guy in the camera store talked me into an expensive one, but I didn't have that until a couple of weeks ago and after I bought that I couldn't afford the polarizer. Maybe next month.

Have you used the ND yet?
Is it solid or graduated?
