Wait... how do you get HDR with something like this in Motion ? doesn't the object have to be still to do the different exposures, or am i missing somehting.

HDR requires a minimum of 2 exposures but 3 or more is recommended.

I shoot in RAW which captures a far greater tonal range than Jpeg (think it is in to the trillions, but dont quote me on that). This enables me to take a range of different exposures from one shot. Purists would argue that you need more than one shot but technically you need more than one exposure which does not mean you cant take it from the same photo.

Depends which way you look at it.

okay, i tried like you said, but for some reason, i get really, really bad noise and wierd blue and pink spots, is that normal ?

It depends. The image will always look noisy before you process it in photomatix, I am assuming this is what you are using. Once you tonemap the image, open it in Photoshop and see how it looks.

Also Did you shoot in RAW or Jpeg? If Jpeg try shooting in RAW.

I also adjust the exposure in 1/3 stops over exposing and under exposing up to +/-2ev using CameraRAW from within Adobe Bridge, i also save one that is 0ev. You should have 13 exposures in total.

Save each exposure as a DNG or a uncompressed TIFF. Then run it through Photomatix and see how it looks. It will always look really noisy when it is first processed but onece you click on tonemapping you will see a better example of how it will look.

If you do another send me a link to it and I will see how it looks and give you any tips. I am still learning myself but I have a few tips.

Also check online for tutorials, there are some good ones and some show you how to do it from one RAW file.

I shot in Raw, .NEF file, i dont have adobe bridge, or photoshop. but when i put it into photomatix, it reduced noise and chromatic abrevaitions, but it still looks wierd.

Do you have lightroom or any software that came with your camera? You should have some software that will enable you to change the exposure, you can do it in photoshop but its a layer mask and wont be as effective.

May be try another image, sometimes its not the right photo. Maybe try one that is already slightly overexposed. These tend to work better cos you arnt bringing in noise by underexposing it.
