I had written a very *very* in-depth description of several of the key components of the tank here, but DeviantArt seems to have forgotten that it existed. I'm working on rewriting it. To be updated.

The frontal angle shows in greater detail the array of equipment set in the front of the T-9C Renegade's turret. Central of course, is the main cannon, its lengthy barrel allowing for multi-stage plasma shell compression. Left of the main cannon, or on the right side of the tank, is the secondary armament, an independent short range plasma cannon for close range anti-personel and light vehicles. On the opposite side of the main cannon are the main viewing scope and laser rangefinder, both tied into the main computer system to assist in accurately locking onto distant targets. This angle also shows the heavily armoured nose of the tank, protecting the vulnerable crew compartment from attacks.

Feeding data to not only the Gunner, but the Commander and Driver as well, the main scope and rangefinder feature fairly conventional technology in comparison to some of the other systems. Equipped with a magnification of up to 40x and a centimeter-precise rangefinder, the system is able to identify targets automatically, and calculate leads, weaknesses, and determine the most effective type of shell to recommend for the Gunner to use. Although the system can be set to aim and fire automatically, it is standard for all descisions to be made by the Gunner and Commander in practice. Due to the sensitive nature of these instruments, they are considered a potential weakness of the vehicle, however the vehicle is equipped with alternative systems for use if need be. Not as effective, but still functional.

The secondary weapon delivers considerable firepower against lightly armoured targets of all sorts. Firing at 300 rounds per minute, each plasma shell contains 10.8 MegaJoules of energy, though much of that is lost if the target is at even moderate range, due to the limited shell compression of the light cannon. Regardless, the explosive plasma shells have a blast radius of roughly 1.5 meters, and are very likely to ignite any flammable material on contact. Such fires usually die out due to a lack of oxygen in the air after a firefight.

The armour of the Renegade tank is of a new, cutting edge design by Aegis Armour Systems, the Renarian Military's primary supplier for physical defenses. A Neutronium Alloy Filament Weave[1] provides the armour with strong heat dissipation, and its high density makes it very robust and resilient. It is of course, not invincible, but in comparison to traditional armours, the Neutronium base allows the diffusion of significantly more energy. Repeated rapid heating though, eventually causes the filaments to break down, and as they do, the Neutronium weave breaks down. This armour is applied generously to the vehicle, with multiple layers protecting the most vital and volatile internal components, especially in the turret. The nose, however, is an extremely thick block of this armour, up to 650mm at the thickest point, to protect the crew compartment and the main computers from frontal attacks.
