Walk down the shadowed path
Through the darkened, pitch black corridor
Open each door as you go
And absorb what you see

What could be behind them?
You ask nobody before you look
And confront a thirteen year old memory
An uncle with busy hands, but help close by

You close the door quickly
Hoping to repress the horror
But as if again reality
You feel it and you shudder

Hoping for a better second shot
You open the next door
But you face a painful scene
Watching a child version of you hurt

"You ruin everything"
You were only standing in the doorway
Watching them have fun
The child-you turns and runs

You turn and close the door
You don't dare to open any more
But they have a mind of their own
And all doors open to remind you of the past

You run down the corridor
Passing open doors as you go
Memories pushed back return
Forcibly, with a vengeance

You can't hide from them
You can't escape
The corridor doesn't end
And you have no way out
