Your welcome. I love your work. Yeah, she looked like Angelina, but a Filipino version. Her lips were huge! This one time I told her to close her eyes & that I had a gift for her. As her eyes were closed, I brang my mini Dirt Devil vacuum hidden behind the couch. Just when I was about to suction her lips, her eyes opened wide. Like any other man, I ran. Anyways, I just checked out your open canvas videos on Youtube. The drawings look great, but I'm curious. Are they done in real time?

I'd do these more often, the problem is that after a certain number of brush strokes, my system starts to lag and it really dampens my enthusiasm to continue the piece (or start one, knowing what'll happen eventually). I'm looking into how much memory I'll have to add in order to prevent this.

Ah that's unfortunate about your system lag. I used to work in IT and I build my own PCs so if you decide you need any help with upgrades just let me know. It's much easier than people think.

I have no qualms about upgrading but do I need an external HD or memory? Because I really like the portability of my laptop -_-

It sounds like you need memory (RAM). Generally you want at least 2GB for digital art.
Now that you mention you are using a laptop it might not be as trivial an upgrade as I had assumed. Laptop memory costs a lot more and taking apart and reassembling a laptop can be tricky. Of course if you are technically inclined it can be done.

My laptop has 2GB of ram and runs Illustrator well so I am thinking it is most likely your cpu or your graphics chip. Unfortunately those cannot be upgraded on a laptop.
Of course there may be some Illustrator settings or techniques I can hunt down that would help. I recently followed an article on optimizing Photoshop CS3 and it made a big difference for my system.

The same brushes can be found in Photoshop, and can be customized as such in almost any digital painting program. Don't ask me to teach you Illustrator, ask yourself what you've learned in art school and apply it to any program/medium you use.

haha I was hoping my eyes weren't deceiving me because I know a lot of artists hate when people say "this character looks just like this character" haha and I was hoping this wasn't one of those!

Oh my goodness, vector! I'd have never guessed! I love the messy, brushy goodness of it. And the colours you've used are fantastic. Something about oranges/peaches and blues is just amazing. Guess it's 'cause they're complimentary, emirite? Anyways. I most adore her glossy, pink lips. Gorgeous.
