I've heard they can be when protecting a nest, yep. Seen a few on a lake from a distance, but when it usually comes to larg(er) birds I know to keep my distance. We got a flock of Canadian geese by the lake where I live and they are territorial as heck! They'll hiss and stretch out their necks if you get close, but I walked right through the middle of em once. If you show that you're afraid by shying away they kinda go after you, so I just plowed on through em. XD
I guess what I really meant was that swans look graceful and serene. Fix'd lol.
