Yay, it's Kaoru. Individual attention FTW!!!I accidentally merged all the layers after I did the base colors, so some of my shadows go over the lines. But whatever.
This is something I could probably never do in OpenCanvas. TT__TT I was changing brush sizes liekk madd.
Photoshop.I can't draw flowers. I can't draw his hair. ;_; Now you know why Hika-chan's not here.

Do you use photoshop to soften the edges where the colors merge? Either Adobe Illustrator doesn't have a tool for that or I just haven't found it.

Yes, I use Photoshop.
I don't use Illustrator, so I'm not very sure if it has a tool... But as far as I know, Illustrator uses vectors, so there can't be soft edges. Photoshop has raster layers, so you can airbrush things, which is what I do for the soft look.

Since I commented, my dad told me he had photoshop and now I'm all set up. Still kinda a noob but working very hard. This isn't the latest, but I like the way it turned out. [link]

Other than that, that picture is beautiful, especially the petals on the flower. That must have been quite some work. The soft, warm background is also very neat.
