Just got this baby finished today. Another part of the Ultimate Sonic Fighter project by , this time of the three Freedom Fighter teams that are represented in his project.

Now as for why Tangle is on the Japanese team, this is because of the fact that the IDW comic picks up where Sonic Forces left off, and that game was made by Sonic Team Japan. Also involved in the comic are some industry insiders who have also done work not only on the discontinued Archie comic but also from Sonic Mania [Plus].

And now for the voice explanations (save for most of the SatAM cast):
Aya Suzaki and Kate Micucci - These were Morph's ideas for Tangle, with Micucci voicing Webby in DuckTales '17.
Sonic Paradox team - As Morph put it, this would be the Sonic equivalent to having Team Four Star involved in the cast of Dragon Ball Xenoverse
Aya Hirano and Wendee Lee - A casting gag towards the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and Lucky Star where the two voiced Haruhi and Konata Izumi.
Kana Ueda and Mela Lee - Mela has the same last name as Wendee and is in the same boat as Kate; they both voiced one of the heroines of Fate/stay night. Kana Ueda also voiced the same character as Mela: Rin Tohsaka
Christie Carlson Romano - While Romano is best known for voicing both Yuffie Kisaragi and Kim Possible, she has also had a healthy Broadway career notably portraying Belle in Beauty and the Beast
Haruna Ikezawa - The voice of Athena Asamiya from the Psycho Soldier and King of Fighters series by SNK
Will Friedle - A sort of nod to Romano's role as KP. Will voiced Ron Stoppable in that same series, also voicing Seifer Almasy in KH2.
Toru Okawa - This is more in line with the fact that Seifer has a striking resemblance to Rufus Shinra.
Kira Buckland - due to the passing of Christine Cavanaugh, Morph had to recast Bunnie. In this case, he went with the voice of 2B from Nier Automata, also voicing Bunnie in the Sonic Shorts by Sonic Paradox.
Christina Vee - Based mainly on a tweet by her, where she says that she wants to voice Sally someday. This would be my voice for her post-Tossed in Space.
Monica Rial - Morph's choice for post-upgrade NICOLE, also the voice of Sakura in the Clear Card series
Sonny Strait and Shun Oguri - While Sonny is Morph's choice for Porker, Shun would be a casting gag as the two of them are the current voices of Arséne Lupin III
Katsuyuki Konishi - The voice of and
Scott Menville - The voice of Robin on Teen Titans and Lloyd Irving
Chika Sakamoto - the voice of Agumon in Digimon Adventure 01-02

Emma Ferguson - This is due to the fact that Morph would like his voice cast for STC to be primarily from the former British Empire (ie Canada, Australia, Ireland, South Africa, and the UK). The voice of Jessica in Dragon Quest VIII when it was released on the PS2 in the US and Europe.
Shiori Katsuta - Originally he went with Hiromi Tsuru, the original voice of Bulma, but she passed away in November. I went with Katsuta because of who dubbed her character, Melia Antiqua, in the PAL and NTSC releases of Xenoblade: Jenna Coleman, aka Clara Oswin.
