Part V- The Flame of Fear

Eesto was tossed in his cell. After wakes up, he immediately ran to the edge of the cell to see Lavender. He smiles.
“Hi Lavender.” He said.
“Hi Eesto.” She replied. She realised Eesto’s ears. “Eesto your ears look really bad.”
“I know.” Eesto said. “They won’t stop bleeding.”
“Not that. Looks like your ears are infected. You might get sick.” Lavender said.
“Oh no.” Eesto whimpered.

Later, their food came. As they were eating, Eesto’s ears were really bothering him.
“My ears are killing me.” Eesto said.
“Just try and not mention it to Esp. She’ll amputate them and may not give you any ears.” Lavender warned. Eesto didn’t know what to say. He just continued eating his rotten food.

The next few days, his ears wouldn’t stop hurting. He was wishing they would stop. Esp came into the prison. Eesto was hoping he wasn’t here for Lavender. But she went into Eesto’s cage. Eesto walks to her, not pulling any fight. Esp starts dragging him by the ear again. Eesto whimpered as she did.

As she was dragging Eesto, suddenly Eesto stopped moving. But Esp was still pulling.
“Ow! I can’t move!” Eesto tell Esp.
“I know. I’m doing that.” She said pulling his ear harder. Eesto cries out as she keeps pulling until there was extreme pain. Esp walks in front of Eesto and drops a huge piece his ear in front of him. Eesto scream.
“You pulled my ear off!!!” Eesto screams, struggling to move. Eesto uses her powers to levitate him to the table. She then strapped his body and arms down as more workers came to him. Esp was biting off the rest of his left ear and two others were biting off his other ear and one was pulling his tail. Eesto cries out as they were ripping apart. The intense pain caused him to pass out.

Eesto wakes up. It was quiet. There wasn’t any sound. Eesto feels his head, he couldn’t feel his ears. They’re gone. Eesto look behind him. They put a new tail on him. It was white and very fluffy. Eesto knows what it was thanks to Lavender telling him about a pokemon with a tail like that a few days ago. He had a flareon tail. Eesto looks and sees Lavender. He runs to her.
“Lavender!”
“Eesto! Your ears are gone!” Lavender gasped.
Eesto cries. “I can’t hear you! I don’t have my ears.”
Lavender’s ears dropped down as he tries to reach a paw to him. Eesto tries to reach too. They both were able to touch ear other.
“I’m sure you will be ok Eesto. One day we will escape.” Lavender said.
“I’m not sure what you said, but I will get us out of here if I could.” Eesto said and pulls back.

Shortly after, Esp walks in his cell again on the same day Eesto got up and walked to her. Suddenly he heard her voice in her mind.
“If you can understand me, then I will let you easy.” The voice said. Eesto looks at her.
“I hear you.” He quietly said.
Esp smiles. “You’re not so pathetic after all. You got guts. But you better have the guts to escape.” She said and pushed him ahead. Eesto starts walking where she wanted him to go without any trouble.

“Lay down.” Esp commented.
Eesto lies on the table, trying his hardest not to cry, but it was hard.
“Ok. I’ll let you off easy.” She said and cast hypnosis on him again putting him to sleep.

Eesto wakes up in his cell. He could hear the fearing noises again, but they sounded much clearer. If he could concentrate, he could hear Esp yelling in the other room. He moves his ear in front of his face. They were bigger and red.
“Eesto?” Lavender calls.
Eesto walks to her.
“Are you ok?” She asked.
“Yes.” Eesto said. “Are you?”
“I’m fine. She hasn’t touched me for a long time. It’s because you’ve been taking my place for me.” She told him. “Eesto, please don’t do that anymore. I don’t want you hurt anymore.”
“I want to Lavender.” Eesto said.
“… You’re sweet Eesto.” Lavender says.
There was a moment of silence until Eesto finally breaks it.
“These are flareon ears?”
“That’s right.” Lavender said. “And the tail too.”
“So... Does this mean I can breathe fire?” Eesto asked.
“Try it.” Lavender said.
Eesto turns around and takes a breath and breathes out hard. He shot out a small flame. He was amazed he was shooting fire like a dragon.
“Flareons are also famous for your great hearing.” Lavender said.
“Oh wow. I’m still wondering why she changed my eyes when she gave me spikes on my back.”
“Jolteon has great vision. People say ‘Jolteon’s eyes are sharp like their spikes.”
“So she gave me jolteon vision and flareon hearing. I guess vaporeon paws are speed.”
“No. The speed is eevee. That’s also the reason she just didn’t try to evolve you. She wants your eevee speed to stay.” Lavender said.
“Then vaporeon paws are just to swim then.” Eesto said.
Lavender nods.
Eesto couldn’t help but ask about her intelligence. “You’re very smart! Were you always that smart?”
“Yes. But Esp helped made me smarter so she could make me use psychic.”
“Psychic? I’ve never heard of that. What is it?” Eesto asks.
“Eesto. I’m sorry to cut it there, but my throat is killing me.”
“Ok. We’ll talk later.” Eesto said and walks to where he sleeps in his cell. He looks at Lavender.
“Good Night Lavender.”
“Good Night Eesto.”

Eesto wakes up and walks to the end his cell to see Lavender. But she wasn’t there. He panicked.
“Lavender!? Where are you? ... Oh no…”
