I'm so sorry... I know this pain... Except my little girl Keisha, died in her sleep... I woke up with her cuddled by legs, but she was gone

Whether it's 2 or 16, it's still hard.
I lost my cat a few years back. He got to turn 16 too, before he has to be put to sleep. Worst day ever.
Rolex' death came as a shock, since there had been no signs at all. Suddenly he just fell dead.. I just stood there for a second, then screamed and ran towards him, and started crying. Then I started CPR. Like.. What.. I didn't see that coming, but, I did it. Unfortunately it didn't help, and he died in my arms. I tried calling my mum, but my phone didn't work. She could hear everything - but I couldn't hear her. Then my phone died. Apparently that doesn't happen in movies only. My phone died without any reason at all! Everything just went wrong that day ):
I'm sorry about your dog. Did she die naturally of old age, or?
Old age is a thing I'm really fearing. The day you get home, and.. Yeah.. No time to prepare yourself for it.

Aw, poor dog You definitely did the best for her. I know some would say a dog could go on like that, but honestly.. Dogs aren't humans. They don't think like we do. Being deaf and blind isn't worthy for a dog.
I'm sorry she had to leave you, though I'm sure both she, and the other dog, had a great life. 16 is a very good age!
And yes, you really bond with the animals. I also considered my old cat to be a younger brother. I even shared all my problems with him, haha. I once read this;
“People are born so that they learn how to live a good life – like loving everybody all the time and being nice, right?” The four year old continued, “Well, dogs already know how to do that, so they don’t have to stay as long.”
That's just spot on.
Aw, of course I do. I love conversations ^^

It's terrible when pets die early, especially like that. I lost my Beardie in November 2013 and he was only four. I am really sorry for your loss.

Oh my goodness, that must have been heartbreaking. I'm so sorry that had to happen. When I had to put my cat down after 22 years of having her, I know it was hard to have her leave. She died in my arms as well. You just grow so attached to these animals, and the pain is just too much to handle sometimes. He certainly looks like he was a good lil' boy and I'm sure he misses you as much as you miss him.

That´s horrible... the lost of pet. Well, unfortunately on 29th Feb 2016 I lost my Thappy girl... Cancer started degenerating her skin. And ´this time I was with her at her last moments, but I´m not over this yet. Thappy was 14 and half yrs old and I had her for almost five years, she had cancer by that time I adopted her so we fought together for four yrs and I promised I won´t let her suffer any pain.
Now I have a puppymill survivor. Former breeding machine. We call her Bethsy and she is the sweetest cutest dachshung ever. We are exploring her skills, she learns stuff... It´s amazing. We adopted her on 2nd April 2016.
Dogs are blessings.... Their love is pure and unconditional.

I'm sorry about Jessy. I hope she weren't in too much pain or anything. Cancer is a horrible thing, but sadly quite common among dogs. It shouldn't be that way.
I know the feeling you have there, that you wanted to be with her, and should've. You just couldn't know that she would die at that exact moment, so it's really not your fault, and you can't really change it I'm sure she had a great life with you. Did you find her dead, or what happened?
I have the same about Rolex. I know I were there when it happened, but I weren't there for him. I didn't even give him that much attention that day, and he didn't even like walking in the snow. He weren't happy that half an hour before his dead, and I didn't even see him fall. Why? Because all my attention were given to the other dog.. I really regret that with all my heart. We were supposed to have this great day, and cuddle up in bed, when we got home from the walk. But we never did.
Wow.. Sounds like there were a lot of things wrong with Jessy. But isn't there a lot of troubles with that breed in general? I heard that once, but I don't know if it's gotten better over time. Such a sad thing, knowing that it's all our fault that the breeds end up like that.
I bought Rolex from a registered FCI breeder, when he was 9 months old. He were also the smallest of the litter, and therefore I probably shouldn't have bought him. But I did. And he's the most special dog I've ever had.
Rolex had buck teeth, were cryptorchid, smaller than what the breed is allowed to be and had lost most of his teeth. He still had a few rotten teeth, that he had to get removed. But he ate as he was supposed to, and there weren't anything wrong with him. The only problem running in the family, where the teeth, obviously. His mother didn't have that many left. But other than that, they were perfectly healthy.
The vet said that it's possible he had water on the brain, which is a problem with chihuahuas, but nothing that they really test for.
