Description You gave me the world. It was flat, and huge. And it grew. You opened up the heavens and gave me, no burning balls of gas and flame, but stars. You revealed the world behind my eyes, and showed me how to find the key to the one before them. The ivory tower, and four great elephants. You nurtured my mind, though you never knew it, and what you planted took hold.  Now it's a garden and a jungle, and you're preparing to leave me to tend it alone.
You opened my eyes, and opened them again. And now I explore two worlds, a multitude of worlds, with your hand as guidance. How will I find my way alone? How can I even know up from down? How can I keep the weeds and parasites from my garden, without your acid to identify them?
I'm young, and feel like I always will be.  I'm learning to think, slowly. You've exploded my mind so many times, and it's difficult to keep up. How could you think of leaving me half taught? I don't think I can do it by myself. I don't think I can fly along these glittering thoughts, ideas that dance. I think I'm going to miss this train.
I will try, when you're gone, to think by myself, to fly solo, to chart unknown oceans on my own. But please, stay a little longer.  Let me stand on your shoulders a little longer. Lift me high and show me a broader horizon, just a little longer. And when I must span the world on my own two feet, when I stumble and fall, I will remember what flight was like.
You don't know I exist. I have never met you, probably never will. But you have seared through my  mind, and I am different from who I was or might have been.
