I was just hoping to get some character sheets of my OC's for my story "New Arrivals". Nothing perverted or anything just like what you did with yakko wakko and dot earlier. I don't recall if you ever read the story or not though.

Noper they are Warners. In the story they are the creations of the great grandson of the animator that made Yakko Wakko and Dot. He intended them to be weapons (he was a brilliant animator but totally out of his mind) Instead he created three brilliant musicians. If you like i can give you a detailed description of each of them.

LOL! Well it sounds better in the story. They are hardly super, I have the whole explanation of it plotted out over the first 7 chapters. Whats scary is the author of "Family" and her beta reader both watch it. PRESSURE! >_<

lukosv In reply to Takineko [2008-09-09 10:07:49 +0000 UTC]
No lol. I guess the long explanation is this(some details left out btw) ...There is no greater bond between a human and toon than between they and their creator/animator. Back in the 1930s this was true of the Warners. But work related pressures and a family history of mental instability drove the Warners animator insane. The studio had him committed, blamed his insanity on the Warners, and locked them away. Skip ahead to the 1980s and the great grandson of the animator. He finds his great grand dads notes on animation, journals, character sheets, and being already insane takes it as a kind of battle cry against the studio. He takes it upon himself to finish what he started and make toons capable of killing. Skip to 2008. He failed. You can never make a toon to be a weapon. They are free willed beings not something you can program. So he tried brainwashing instead. The oldest called the police and had him committed to a hospital. (heresy for a toon you don't turn on your creator but he did it to save his family). Then called the studio(using a different voice and knowing the studio would panic) and had he and his siblings picked up to keep his family off the streets. They aren't as emotionally stable as the original warners, a side effect of their animator. So the oldest is hoping that some semblance of a normal life without that person will help his brother and sister realize their potential. And keep them from seriously hurting anyone.

Sounds like serious bidness, but you made me picture Tom Ruegger going crazy and that was priceless. You have to name his great grandson either Luke, Cody or Nathan. [I'd prefer Nathan XD]

lukosv In reply to Takineko [2008-09-09 17:47:36 +0000 UTC]
I named him David already lol. I'm seven chapters into the story and the eighth is awaiting beta reading. I never really named the original Warners animator I intend to keep it that way. Let the reader decide. But yeah the story oscillates between some humor and melodrama. The newer Warners ive named Dee(male and oldest),Peg(female middle) and Psykko(male youngest). They don't do comedy as well or other cartoon staples. They simply lack the experience to be good at it. Their big claim to fame is music in which they are better than the original three. I'm sort of chronicling their journy to normality as normal goes for toons. They were denied that by their animator and it's something no toon should ever be at a loss for. So they have to overcome being uprooted, living with strangers, emotional instabilities, all that good stuff along the way.

:-p I just liked the idea of a Warner that was like a blues hippie type of guy. Always has a dumb grin on his face always makes some offhand comment that pisses someone off without really trying. That's Dee. lol. The others came in later. Different facets of mine and my families personalities went into them all really.

Well in the story he and Yakko annoy the crap out of each other. But eventually they start to get along. Having a common enemy in Plotz helps. Yakko going with Dee to visit their creator in a toon asylum(he was transferred out of human custody) helps more. My Yakko isn't a shallow selfish prick like in a lot of the fanfics ive read. He is trying to make the best of a difficult situation. He and Dee still spar sometimes but much of the ill nature has gone out of it (Dee has like zero modesty about nudity among other things that irk Yakko) at this point in the story.

yeah, to make a fanfic work they really have to keep the origional characters true to their real personalities. Fans have a tendancy to over exaggerate, or want to put them in a serious situation so they have to react seriously, but then it starts to not seem like the real characters anymore.

Sometimes you have to make concessions to characters for the sake of the plot, but I'm trying hard to keep mine balanced. It's a drama true enough but i do have humor in it. Like Yakko being awakened from a sexy dream and being caught pitching a tent,Dee stripping in front of Yakko making him cringe, or Wakko and Psykko setting whipped cream bombs off in Ralph's gate house and covering him in sunday fixings. Some of the humor is more adult some outright childish but I try to keep it in there. Toons don't think like humans. That's why they drive us so crazy.
