Description

Welcome to Iniahara (ee-nee-ah-HAHR-ah), a world with no land.

Iniahara orbits the star Inihiri (ee-nee-HEE-ree). The star is very old, and remnants of its many fits have collected in a burning ring at the edge of the system. When a planet nears, ribbons fray from the ring and dance in the night sky. The planet Rablah (RA-blah) is also in this solar system, and is locally called Arabalah (AH-rah-bah-lah).

A vast ocean covers Iniahara’s entire sphere, and winds howl high in the atmosphere. Ancient trees have their roots in the sea floor and higher, underwater cliffs. Their massive boughs stretch above the choppy waves. Within the branches and trunks of this water-logged forest, the Iniahara-ki (ee-nee-ah-HAHR-ah-kee) thrive.

Through Iniahara-ki possess a primarily humanoid-shaped body, they are classified as an insectoid race. Adults range in size from 6 to 9 feet in height and typically weigh less than 200 pounds. They have two legs, four arms, and four moth-like wings. Their skin is thick and rock-like, and their circulatory system resembles an arachnid’s, helping them cope with the g forces of their acrobatic feats. Their ears resemble a fish’s fins and seal when they dive underwater. While they require air to breathe, they can hold their breath for many hours. They are primarily carnivorous, and have a mouth full of shark-like teeth.

Many languages are spoken by the scattered villages across the globe, but the international tongue is Ahairiki (ah-HAI-ree-kee), a language where most consonants are surrounded by a pair of identical vowels. N and M are occasionally allowed to break this rule.

Iniahara-ki have yet to make many scientific discoveries and have not left their world, though they have met many space-faring races, including pirates from Veloi (VEE-loi) and the Seallaii-na Sojourners (SEEL-lah-ee-nah SOH-johrn-ehrs). One of note, Fredo of the Abaeyoi (FRAE-doh uhv thee AH-bae-yoi) clan, was born here and named after a local vine, efereodonidii.

Iniahara is only seen briefly in River's End.
