It was a beautiful day and Volty took some of the pups for a little hunting lesson. Cael shifted to his smaller cat form because it made it easy for him. Plus, Volty can teach him and all he will only do is supervise the pups. He plopped his small body on top of Volty as the large, blonde tokota started walking towards the woods. The pups were full of energy, bouncing and yapping to themselves. They tugged at Volty’s curly mane trying to playfully entangle themselves within it. “Grandpa Volt, are we going to hunt today?” asked one pup. “Are we going to see bears?” asked the other. “Are we going to go fish?” asked the third pup.

“Yes, youngin’s! But we ain’t gon’ be hunting bears nor fishin. We gon’ hunt foxes!” Voltaire told them full of enthusiasm shaking his beautiful blonde curly mane under the sun. Cael would huff at him, staying on his back and letting the heat be soak into his fur. The group finally arrives in the heart of the wood, where a large tree trunk would be seen. A large gaping hole would be obviously there, a sign that a fox maybe there or somewhere near. “All right youngin’s, foxes are cunning and fast and you gotta be fast too or they gon’ trick you and you go home without the prized pelt!” Volty told them.

The pups listened intently at the older tokota. “First, you gotta sneak slowly and quietly and then BAM! there goes your first pelt of the day!” He did the actions in front of them to show them how before letting them do it themselves. Volt laughed as he watch the pups quickly roleplaying his tips only to adorably pounce towards the hole and messing up. The fox being startled was able to escape and the pups sat down in defeat, whining at their unsuccessful first hunt. “There there kids, the first hunt is always not the successful one.” Volt huddled with the pups together and throughout the day they would go and find large trees with holes in it to practice. The pups would replay their mistakes a few more times before finally being able to get the basics. At the end of the day, they were able to only catch one fox. Their first training was hard and tiring but the knowledge imparted by Volt in them will stay forever. -
