Living in Nozoe Ichinomiyamachi, Takayama for as long as she could remember, Saitō Haruka was raised as an only child in a comfortably small home; because her parents absence in her life since her infancy, Haruka grew up knowing her grandparents as her only family. Assuming the subject to be proscribed, Haruka never questioned her grandparents about her parents' whereabouts -rather, she never uttered a single word about her parents. However, her lack of parental love did not restrict her from a pleasant childhood as her grandparents over compensated by fawning over her and -when they could- providing her with more than she needed.
    Although her grandparents treated Haruka as though she were the world, she grew up very humble and hardworking. Her childhood consisted of gardening and harvesting produce with her grandfather, which was sold as a main source of income. Once she had gotten old enough to work, Haruka spent most of her nights working at the local konbini, only taking the weekends off to help sell produce with her grandfather. Her lack of book-smarts made balancing high school and work difficult for her but Haruka tried her hardest to succeed in both areas. Even though many complications arose between her most formidable years- only adding onto the stress she already carried- she ultimately graduated high school with barely above average grades and just enough money to go to college.
    After a summer spent working and stressed over leaving her grandfather behind (as well as choosing a major), Haruka finally started school at the only university that had accepted her application - 竹林大学.

   She has never had a problem making friends; however, her unaccommodating schedule has always made it hard for her to keep friends.

   A trait that had been instilled in her since her childhood; whether it's a job or a relationship, she'll try her hardest regardless if failure is inevitable.

   She will rarely accept praise where it is due (though she secretly appreciates it) and discourages attention on any of her achievements.

   It is rare that Haruka will do anything forcefully and constantly has a soft smile on her face.
