Heya, Oki here..!

Today I present you with a rather impulsive Neon Genesis Evangelion fan art that made my hand hurt a lot! (To be honest, I struggled A LOT with drawing the Lance/Spear of Longinus and Unit 01 so I traced the lineart for them, lol. My pride's kinda crushed, but whatever I guess. ) Wanted to make a tribute to Evagelion and my main man Hideaki Anno, so I made this poster-esque NGE piece!

If you haven't seen Eva yet, I highly recommend that you turn your laptop on RIGHT NOW and watch it on some sketchy-ass pirating site!! (don't watch it on Netflix, though. The Netflix version sucks) Initially, I thought Eva was just another '90s mecha anime, and because mecha ain't really my thing I didn't take interest in it at the time. HOWEVER, - flash-forward to 2020 - after stumbling upon some pretty rad fan art, I thought, hm.. now that you think of it, Evangelion does seem kinda cool... Imma watch it! And so I did..! And man, was I surprised--! A good surprised! Instead of some generic mecha (and no shade to people who like mecha, it just personally isn't my cup o' tea ), I got w a v y aliens, gay space Jesus, actually realistic characters, psychological horror, depression, and mind rape..!! WOW! Thus I fell completely in love with Eva!

Jokes aside, I think Eva is one of the few animes out there that I think is truly meaningful. It holds the type of message that completely SCREWS with your brain, and as much as you hate it, it'll stick. Like, really stick. Stick as in gum in your hair stick! (this has happened to me before, trust me when I say this: it's damn sticky!!) I'll admit, it isn't the most entertaining thing to watch, but if you like to torture your brain and question your existence (in the right way!) then Eva is just the thing for you! So yeah, consider it..!
