Darkness

Darkness envelopes my mind like a blanket wrapped around an infant
Strangely the darkness is warm
As I stare into the darkness I can smell burning that would seem to be warm, the crackling of wood that settles onto my tongue tastes like ash.
It is as if the darkness itself tastes like ash
I could hear my cat midnight near by, but was unable to see him
As the flames began to disperse, the darkness grew colder
If I could see, I would more than likely see trees of the colors orange red and yellow
The stars began to form pentagrams in the sky
As I began to move around, I stepped upon a twig, but no noise arose
The darkness began to make my mind hear strange sounds
The roughness of the trees lasted forever
All things seeable were living
As I thought the fire to grow, it did
Moment after exciting moment the inferno continued to grow
As I stared at midnight he began to sorrow for he loved the darkness
At my thought the fire began to disperse
I watched him become happy as the fire dispersed into the abyss
As the fire dispersed it still danced with joy
Once the fire was out it still seemed to be light
For morning had come.
