Theme 43 of 100Let's face it: It was quiet obvious something like this will come with this theme, right?
yup yup.
Sickness is, once again, a theme of hidden messages and double meanings.
You may figure it out yourself once you can identify all the details
.But remember: I used dark colors with an depressing atmosphere on purpose!
This pic is also a warning to something everyone of us should know and it is of great importance, so I hope for constructice critique and creative comments.

Why does this look like Maria just cracked open a Smash Ball? (Too much Brawl for me, I think... 
Anyways... this also reminds me of a physical manifestation of a rogue cell (or nuclei) trying to devour Maria's nervous and immune system, since she has the incurable disease N.I.D.S and all...

Yeah... if you think about it, both of them (Shadow and Maria) are suffering an equal pain.

irgendwie kann man auf dem bild so gut wie nichts erkennen. ich meine die umrisse von maria zu erkennen und das wars auch schon. mit dem rest kann ich nichts anfangen.

ist eben wieder mal ein Bild wo man ein bissle um die Ecken denken muss. 
Jedenfalls will ich mit diesem Bild ein wenig auf die Umweltprobleme aufmerksam machen. Die zerbrechende Kugel soll die Erde darstellen, die symbolisch unter der Last der Umweltverschmutzung allmälich zusammenbricht. Wir Menschen machen uns selber krank indem wir unserer Welt vergiften.
Viele verseuchen die Umwelt ohne zu bemerken, dass wir doch alle von ihr abhängig sind, z.B. wir verschmutzen die Flüsse und Seen, doch wir brauchen ihr Wasser zum Leben. Das ist doch ein Teufelskreis...

ja du hast recht. der mensch ist eine zerstörerische spezies. deswegen hasse ich die menschen mit unter auch so und sage dann lieber, dass ich von einem anderen planeten komme, weil ich mit dieser spezies einfach nicht verwand sein will.

hmm... ich finde es ist nicht so gut sich Illusionen über die Geschichte zu machen, sprich das Jetzt in dem wir leben. Ich bin froh, dass ich als Mensch meine Existenz begriffen habe, würde auch nichts anderes sein wollen, denn nur so kann sich etwas ändern. Sicher, allein bringt es wohl nichts, aber immerhin gibt's noch mehr die so denken.

Ok heres I am and ready for my roving through this here piece. And a real tough one this time. Seriously. But I'll try my best.
The glowing ball with the flower inside represents life I'm guessing and how life is delicate like a flower. A sickness can all too easily break that fragile ball a bit faster then it is already breaking. The piece over the eyes must be how some people can only see the damage. Maria being bare must represent how the body will always house a diease and how you can be a prisoner in your own body. The grabber maybe means that you can always pick up the pieces and start again. Darkness shows the uncertainty of our fate and life is a glowing sphere that we all and ever will know.
Ok how did I do? A bit dramtic but I like it.

Ok, before I start, I have to admit that this one ist really a tough one, especially when you don't know what the single details are in the first place.

As for the details:
- The black BG with the strange edges is acutally nothing but a pile of garbage (that's why the claw/crane is also there), which is darkening the world.
- Maria crawled up in an argony of suffering and pain, which is representing her own, incurable decease, as well as the worring about the planets future.
- The shattered orb is the Eart, which is falling apart because of humanities stupidty. It is symbolising the endless circle we got ourselfs into. People forget that it might be easy by throwing everything in the oceans or burry it underground, but at the same time, they are destroying the planet they still live on.
- the water is a our source of life, but it's already tainted and dull. This should reflect the danger of polluting the seas and lakes. We can't live without water.
- the shade of the plant is very dull and only exist as a sillouette, still growing out of the water, but already infected by the darkness of the pollution.
-the little bit in the left upper corner, is suppose to be a smokked sky with dirty air and also represents the same warning.
Well, that's the solution for the details, but like I said: it was a hard one this time

Wow, I thought it was representing the sickness, not only in Maria with her NIDs, but in all of us. As in we're a sickness to the planet? [I guess I got to where you stood, just from another direction] XD

that's correct, but I must say that I always think in the depth, not only to topics like this. I do it in general terms.
But it's really like this, isn't it? Mankind is destroying the planet more and more, but they don't realise that they still need it to life on it... -_-;

Indeed, it's sad but most species groups [eg. amphibians] will most likely be gone or halved by 2050. Not only due to human interference but due to nature as well. Many diseases are plaguing species worldwide now, like this worldwide frog fungus, almost as though nature is taking things back, for better or worse...(?)
Considering that we've had 2 or 3 depressions in a century now then I don't hold much faith in the planet's biodiversity becoming stable by the time 2100 comes around. But then we'll be gone, so meh..

I thought you meant sickness of the mind and body. I didn't know you meant sickness of the world. Strange really. You say a title, like sickness for example, and then you give two different meanings to the word, of the body and of the planet, and people see things differently depending on what the meaning is. Still, I feel like I let you down. By not seeing what the real meaning was behind the piece.
