The first idea creature for my mini-project (south america
based on the suggestion by Madron Osborne
the RATTLE-BACK (a.k.a Adilomimus is a member of the arbosaur family which were desenceded from tree dwelling theropods that came down from the canopy and starting exploring life on the forest floor, in this case, growing to size of a cat.
as you see, it is covered in what looks like scales, these (believe it or not) are feathers that like the horn of a rhino have become matted, this helps provide armour against the predatory Nikoraptors and, as the name suggests are able to make a loud rattling noise.
the long Beak-like mouth is able to poke into crakes in the floor to help find the beetle grubs that it's diet mostly consists of.
