when i rehost the header image it becomes way to small for some reason. it doesnt line up properly

make sure you use a host that doesnt scale down your image but keeps the original size.. the header image is quite large in width to make sure its good for all resolutions

im not sure if photobucket does that, because im not a PB user myself.. but there are several hosts that do encounter this problem.
you could try imgcow or tinypic or something alike
