Doodled this on Paint at school. It came out so adorable that I had to share it here. ^_^Dib got out of bed to go get some coffee, since he's still tired and doesn't want to fall asleep at work. Zim, of course, went after him.
Don't ask me why Zim's as tall as Dib. HE JUST IS. FOR EXTRA CUDDLING ABILITIES.

but why would they of all "people" be in love?! in one episode zim killed him and didn't have a pinch or remorse!

Well, that episode was an early one. Zim probably didn't have much feelings either way about Dib, but I think after a few days he would have started to miss him and regret what he had done. As for this, it's several years after the show... they've been so obsessed with each other it only makes sense (to me at least) that they would fall in love. They have nothing to lose. Zim knows he's not an Invader by now, so he might as well turn to the one human who understands him perfectly.
Then again, I'm just a fangirl interpreting their characters to my own benefit.

Well, from the beginning we know his Tallest (and the rest of his kind) hate him. Don't you think they would eventually tell him that he's just a banished, worthless defect so they can see his horror and misery at that? They enjoy the sight of suffering, and they would probably enjoy the sight of Zim breaking down upon realizing he has no real mission.
And in that case, Dib probably would comfort him. 
And I don't mind that you don't approve of the relationship. Everyone has their own opinion.

Actually, I am sorta working on one where Zim captures Dib and uses him as a slave, also keeping him out of the way so he can destroy mankind. He's attacked several capital cities and Dib can do nothing but watch.

Well, in most of them, they do. But in the slave one, Zim just uses him as... stress relief, I guess you can say, but still has no feelings for him.
Dib, however, can't help growing to like him, since he's been with him for weeks, sometimes helping him out in the lab or doing whatever else Zim wants him to do. As the writer William Faulkner would put it, "with nothing left, he would have to cling to that which had robbed him, as people will."
Eventually, Zim starts to realize he likes having him around. It's still a one-sided love, though. I'm trying to make it more realistic than just 'they're in love omg kawaii desu.' It's a really gradual story. Eventually, though, I plan on Zim successfully conquering Earth, returning to Irk, and retiring, taking Dib with him for the simple reason that he had grown undeniably attached to him in the several months that he was his slave. From there... I don't know yet.

This story is separate from those. 
None of my stories are really connected, actually. They're just random one-shots that could take place at any time during high school or a few years after.
Plus, this slave one is going to be a chapter story once I take the time to start organizing it better, because for now it's just a bunch of random files in my laptop.
