Fallen Leaf was a project I came up with to get me into the studio back in Aug 2009. At that time I produced two versions. The brass version above and a sterling silver version that was gifted to a dear friend. Although both are of the same design, they each have a unique feel seperate of each other. This version was patinated and then wire brushed so that only inside the hallow construction remained black. This really pops out the pendants form.

I feel the design references my first pendant "Bound Frustration" [link] that started my whole journey into jewelry. Where "Bound Frustration" was restrained and held tight by its copper binding, Fallen Leaf has broken free. The rivets of "Bound Frustration" have been replaced with tube set CZs that add the element of light. Fallen Leaf pushes out with the openings and the light reflected in the CZs. Unlike "Bound Frustration" that pulled inward.

We've missed you!

I love the 'outwards and onwards' feel to this new piece. It feels as though you've got your groove back (corny, I know, but apt).

Wishing you much new and fresh creativity. I for one will be keen to check out your new directions
