Here's another version of Popeye I came up with... This version is sort of based on the Popeye of the '30s. I also added one of my many versions of Bluto.
I've always liked the animated cartoons better than the Popeye comic strips. The old Popeye cartoons from the '30s, '40s and '50s were on TV all the time when I was a little kid... If they ever bring back Popeye I hope they do it right. So many old toons that get brought back usually suck.

I used to watch Popeye cartoons every morning before I used to go to school. I always loved the episode "Popeye the Sailor Meets Ali Baba's Forty Thieves".

Yeah, Popeye was on T.V. a lot when I was a kid... That is a good episode but I haven't seen it in many years.

I remember one of the TV stations here aired the original black and white ones! I liked then back then when they didn't have TV censors.

Yeah, when I was a little kid Popeye came on TV twice a day. Once in the morning before I left for school, and then again in the afternoon when I came home from school... I saw all the old episodes. When I was in college in another town, Popeye came on TV real late at night (2:00AM to 4:00AM) for all the stoners, lol.
I like the old episodes where he sometimes mumbles to himself without his mouth moving. Some of the funniest lines were his mumbling to himself

The old shows were the best. I saw most of them dubbed in Spanish, but back then the voice actors casting directors and translators were really talented not like today.
