XP I don't care what any of you say! SHEIK IS A GIRL AND YOU KNOW IT! YOU'RE IN DENIAL!!but whatever your opinion is on HER, I'd very much appreciate some full views on this since it took bloody forever to make. Hope you all like it! ^_^ and yes I know I probably changed nobody's opinion lol
EDIT: LOL ok so I'm getting a lot of ppl coming on here trying to tell me why sheik is a male....well, just go read this:sheik3ds.webs.com/ it basically says what i believe about her (although in a very lengthy and sometimes too emphatic way...and sorry it kinda disses yaoi fans, which i don't do personally although i disagree with them) so yeah. if you can refute all that in there, then you can try to convince me sheik is a male lolz

I am not trying to say anything rude, but sheik is only a girl in hyrule warriors. Sheik is a guy in all the other games. When you first find Ruto in the water temple, after yelling at you for not being there for her she specifically says, "I was saved by a young Man" named SHEIK! " anyway, sorry I just had to get that off my chest. Since here, it's a girl, I will just imagine this as hyrule warriors sheik.

Eh, people can have the headcannon that Sheik is a guy without it actually being cannon. I know that the character is a girl, but prefer to think of him as male. Not trying to be rude or anything, just stating my opinion. And I don't prefer to think of her/him as a male for yaoi reasons, just because I find the idea generally more appealing.

Physically, yes, Sheik is a girl. But the personality is a guy. So if that part of him were to separate from Zelda and manifest on it's own, it would be a man.

That's your opinion and you're welcome to it, but to me sheik is a female inside and out. No make parts whatsoever, physical or non physical. As a tomboy myself can attest it's perfectly possible to have a strong personality that society would consider stereotypically masculine, but still be a female in every way

Well my view is that he/she could be either it's all up to what the fan makes it out to be we can argue for years and not come up with a valid solution. He is a girl and she is a guy. You choose how to see him/her. They really leave it up to you.Β

Well, there is in my opinion enough canonical proof that she's a female and that's what Nintendo intended, but they don't advertise it very prominently probably out of fear of alienating their yaoi fan base. But yes, no matter what my opinion is, fans are going to see her how they want and that's fine. But since this is my art I felt perfectly entitled to put my opinion on it- that's she a female inside and out and always will be. Just with a frickin' kick butt tomboy side that likes to go ninja lol

Well, it's not even proven that she physically becomes a boy in the manga as opposed to 'living like' one. In fact, when link carries her as adult sheik in the manga he gets flustered because he notices her thin, female body. And even if it was proven she turned into a boy in the manga, the manga isn't canon, so it doesn't matter much.

I didn't even say 'raving fangirls' or anything remotely stereotypical in my comments. I made the implication that those who believe sheik is a male are in denial, but that's my personal opinion and has nothing to do with fangirls. If you're referring to the link on there, I didn't write it nor agree with its assessment of yaoi fans, only of its assessment of sheik's gender, which i did state. so, stop stereotyping YOURSELF, thank you

You implied that most of us classify Sheik as male because we could pair 'him' with Link. Personally, I could see it going either way. And no, the link provided many good points. I liked it for that. Yes, I implied most (not all) people who think of sheik as male are Yaoi fans and ignore evidence that she's Zelda because they like the linkxsheik pairing. In no way does that stereotype them or call them raving fangirls. I take a bit of offense when someone implies I'm a stereotyper because I despise stereotyping and recognize we're all individuals. Just because someone thinks sheik is male doesn't mean they fall into the majority who are Yaoi fans, or think that way because they like the pair, or rave. It is no problem. Normally I don't enjoy fem!Sheik's drawings because they, you know... make her more "well-endowed" than normal (I suppose that's why I drifted more to the male!Sheik side), but I actually enjoyed your art in that aspect.Β

The one and only logical explanation that would explain Sheik's gender to me (game-wise. at least), would be a last minute change in plans. They wanted to make an appeal to the market with strong independent female characters, hence fem!Sheik and Tetra. Then again, I suppose that's just me.

I think it has to do more with the Japanese fetish on tomboy girls... the "girl who dresses like boy" character is pretty common in manga/anime. And well, if Zelda could change her sex with magic, she wouldn't need a disguise at all (cuz that was the point afterall, to hide from Ganondorf).
