Umm, not sure why it would make you uncomfortable...I guess because I know alot of people who have trouble accepting compliments or believe that any compliment on their physical beauty or appearance might mean there is some sort of sexual attraction rather than an appreciation of beauty/general aesthetics. I forget that I am commenting on an art website and most artists also appreciate beauty therefore they would understand this type of comment rather than misinterpret it.
