Description (see also previous Deviation)

3 cm of shed elk antler has been shaped and polished. The word METFORMIN was applied on each side using a PIGMA MICRON 05 pen (micropigment archival ink for waterproof and fadeproof lines).
The tag was left to dry for 6 hours, then covered with one layer of Dullcote Lacquer (normally used for Testor's Model Kits).

As a material, antler feels slightly heavy, like the plastic out of which they make dominoes. If clicked together, antler pieces clink. This is good because a medical alert pendant should not migrate to the back of the neck (where it wouldn't be seen in an emergency).

I must say a very good idea, indeed. I have never worked with antler before. I assure you
I was just inspired to

I work in a retirement home and it seems that 90% of the people who are required to wear medical alert pendants or bracelets, do so.... but keep them tucked away beneath their shirts because they find them tacky. I think they'd love to have such a wonderfully creative and unique alternative.

Sooooo..... I think your tag is very nifty!

Wow, that's extremely creative and crafty. I'd know I'd love to have something as unique as that if I had a medical condition. Much nicer than some plastic or metal tags.
