Pocchi was Chiaki's first magic animal that she got from her parents when she was around 10yo. They've spent a few years together before the start of the history. (Note: it's not like in Pokemon, some people can receive their magic companions earlier, even at birth, it always depends).
Pocchi has control over the fire element & helps Chiaki to set stuff on fire or serves as a light source in the darkness.
It's power potential (that is working like a battery) is 1 star out of 5 (and 5 is a fuc*ing god, only one that I know of atm I am writing this).
It helped Chiaki catch her second animal in the first session, allowing her to cast a capturing spell.
Pocchi's magical heart is located (or is more like "creating the item" to be precise) in Chiaki's choker, together with her second magic animal (& one other that will show up in the future).

As for the end of April 2021, due to a story progress, Chiaki possessed all her hearts (that was 4) as an underwear, in order to avoid stealing them from her xD
Now she has 7 magic animals: 3 in a choker, 2 in a bracelet and 2 in a ring. But it's constantly changing, it's possible to make anything-anytime with hearts, but it should be not bigger than a person. We'll see what comes next for Chiaki.
