This doesn’t mean they’re magically gonna be best friends or everything is good between them. No, they will need a lot of work but they want to try and that is what is important. As cliche and jokey as this sounds, Marian might have won the turf league, but the true prize was friends we made along the way and they all are winners. Because when you get older, you realize what really matters and one of them is peace of mind.
Speaking of that. What a project this has been. Over 3-years ago I started working on Heroes of Inkopolis comic, out of pure love for this new series called Splatoon. And after that, the inklings, who were just called Orange and Blue at the time, have grown so much and given me so much. Good and bad.
When I got to this chapter, I was pretty much emotionally done with this series but I wanted to finish it and let these characters go with a happy ending they deserve. I worked on the story as I drew it and had to squeeze in a lot of stuff I had planned for later. It is an emotional mess, just like my feelings towards this series and community are. As I look at this final story, it came out way more personal than I anticipated. Lot of my frustration, stress and depression show in it. But, also things I’ve learned, optimism and hope for the better. While it’s true that splatoon hasn’t brought me much joy anymore and the second game didn’t manage to capture the magic first one had for me, I will always look back to the good things this series has brought me. As they out weight the bad by a lot.
I met and even had the pleasure of working with some really talented and great people I consider my mutuals. And even if we don’t talk as much as we used to, lot of respect and all the best towards you. You know who you are.
I’ve received ton of positive messages and love from you people. It means a lot you care about these silly things I do. And special thanks to those who believe in me so much, that they want to support me over patreon and help me to do what I love. My humblest thanks to you.
I created lot of art I’m really proud of and I still consider HOI as one of best comics I’ve ever made. It taught me a lot and it was just pure joy to make.
I created some of my favorite characters ever and this passion towards them has grown into my very own original series which I am super proud and eager to work on.
And of course, I found the person I love, thanks to this series. Thanks to this series and thanks to these characters I found someone. I’ve traveled to America thanks to this series. Thanks to all this, I’m looking forward to rest of my life with someone I love.
With this, Cafe Cardamari Tales are done. Well, there is at least one extra Arnick and Tetrox story I want to make and I will still draw splatoon related art, my own and commissions. There’s also lot of patreon exclusive splatoon art I’d love to show publicly. But the series has come to an end as far as I’m concerned. I thank you all who were here with me through this journey. Thank you~

Woomy--you did it. You finished Cafe Cardamari. And on a positive note where the rival captains have taken their first step toward peace of mind and friendship~
I admit, reading through "Final Match!", I wondered what exactly prompted you to make this chapter--since it was quite angsty. But oddly enough, my favorite stories you've made consist of serious overarching tones (think this and "Dearly Departed")--because it's apparent you put a lot of raw emotion into it, and I find these character's sadness/anger/fear relatable~
But even though you had negative experiences with the Splatoon fandom, the good definitely outweighs the bad.
Like getting to meet John and your friends through this series~
Objectively, I truly believe that Cafe Cardamari Tales/HOI is your best comic to date. Thanks to a lot of experience prior with making RD, ICA, TNBC, and group art stuff, that all helped you with your drawing and storytelling skills. And it shows in the diversity of characters and relationships you've made that resonate with a lot of people, too. It's no wonder that you ended up making BU as a result.
I have a much deeper respect for you--now more than before when I was just a fan. Getting to see a glimpse of your creative process has shown me the amount of love and effort you put forth into your comics. And there have been times where I couldn't believe that you'd confide with / m e / --of all people-- when you were first figuring out how to do Patreon-related stuff in conjunction with making comics. It's just...been such a journey to see you transform, grow, and evolve through your own artwork.
In spite of everything, thank you for sharing your world of characters with us people on the Internet~ :V

I have enjoyed reading this series for so long. It's kind of a bittersweet feeling seeing it end. On the one hand, it has been amazing seeing these characters grow and evolve and the ending felt really realistic and personal but still left things on an ultimately positive note for all involved. And on the other hand, it's sad because now it's over.
Thank you for all the time and effort you put into creating and sharing this series, I'm greatly looking forward to seeing more of your Bottled-Up series and wish you the best of luck with it

This brings me to something I've wanted to say for a while. Tammy, your work has inspired me so much as an artist, especially your Splatoon art. My work has gotten much better, and your characters will always have a special place in my heart.
I will admit, it's hard to see the group go. I love them all and hope to see them in all their cephalopod glory, but for now, they can take a well-deserved rest. So take your time, and I'm sure they'll return when you feel up to it.
I am glad Splatoon has helped you so much. It's helped me too in all sorts of ways. It really is a colorful way to live, huh?
Anyway, I want to say Thank You. Thank you for all the inspiration, feels, tips, and characters to love that you have given me and everyone else. You really are an inspiration to us all.

like many others, I've been reading your work since RD and I always get excited to see your work. I know sticking to a story you don't feel so attached to anymore can be hard, but thank you for finishing for us ;v;
Personally this franchise gave me my own team whom I call my family, and a bunch of friends too! I'm glad you were able to find your own treasures throughout your adventure.
I look forward to seeing more of your work, and how these characters evolve in a new world!

I'm very happy he gives you a boyfriend (and maybe an husband one day, who knows).
I'm also very happy for this ending. And I'm pretty sad because of the ending because this means I'm following you nearly 2 or 3 years and it's like it was yesterday I discovered your art, and seeing a great comic end is something special because you know the sotry you lokk for have finished and will not continue anymore.
But I will still look further to your comics, with hope that Bottled up will give me the same spark that Random Doom, Ice Climbers-SSBU Adventure and then Calamari Tales (and another comics that some other people did).
But if one day you run out if idea (and so you read my comment), I have an idea for you: since as a drawer you start to really love your character like members of your family (or something near to) why don't you try a "crossover" comic? Like for XXX reason, your favorites caracters wakes up in the same dimension and try to get out of here? It would be a cool idea to have a new story with all your favorites characters! But it's up to you and I will still follow you anyway.

I was going to simply write "woah the flowers look so pretty in this page" but after reading your description and others comments, I wanted to personally say that your work is fantastic! I found you through some small orange and blue splatoon art, read HOI, then anticipated page updates since Part 1. I love the game but you gave so much more life to it. The characters are so believable, and this last chapter was a lot more personal, it gives your story that much more emotion and depth to it. I've become very invested in these characters and am super excited to see them in BUP. It's so cool to see how strong of a network you have going on for a personal project! It's awesome seeing artists do their own thing, I thoroughly enjoyed your storytelling. Thank you so much for making such wonderful content, whether it be your own spark and charm on popular games, or your own original creations!

Here’s to your inkcredible 3 year Splatoon series. The 4 teams are all great as teams and individual characters. I caught on to Cafe Cardamari tales back about 2-3 years ago, when Splat jam v Vitamin ink was only a cover and the page with Whinter realizing he slept in. The HOI adventure was something else, and an awesome way to portray the hero mode in Classic Splatoon. Your Blue and orange opened the gates to a larger canon when I first learned their names as Whinter and Clementine. So thanks for all the epic stories based off a silly ,but epic squid paintball match game, and I’ll definitely keep following these awesome characters as reintroduced in Bottled up.

heh, well first, grats on getting this done and coming to it's conclusion, sticking with it instead of letting it die and giving us, the fans, silly as we can be, the sendoff we've been waiting for.
Of course, when you say it's the end, I can only laugh, not in jest, but in amusement at such a statement. after all, Splatoon is a Nintendo IP. Nintendo doesn't just make games. they make things we cherish and continue to love throughout our lives. think about how massive Icons have become of characters like Mario, or Link, or Samus, heck ANY of Nintendo's IP. there's probably only a few million people who don't know who mario is.
So yeah, Splatoon 2 kinda wasn't great. all of Nintendo's IP's have dipped, and Splatoon 2 didn't exactly have a long dev time. but I guarantee, there'll be that new game, that Super Mario 3D world, that Breath of the Wild, that one game that'll just, INSPIRE you. and I have no doubt that when that game comes, maybe we'll see some spinoff or new story with cameo's of old characters.
After all, you never know what the future might bring, so don't rule anything out. Just make it a Good one

I've followed your comics since the early days of Random Doom and have watched your art and story telling improve drastically over the years! Every new series you make comes with super enjoyable characters and amazing artwork. I've always been a fan of your action shots and dynamic lineart! Your art has always brought a smile to my face and has inspired me to improve my own artwork, while it's always sad when a story comes to an end, but I'm so excited to experience your new series ^^

What a wonderful ending to an equally wonderful comic... I've said it before but never having been able to play splatoon myself, I loved living in the fandom through your comics. Splatoon has personal meaning to me simply because of your work with it, which is amazing!! With the closing of Random Doom and now Cafe Cardamari Tales, I'm only more and more excited to see where Bottled Up takes us. And you're right- these characters developed so deeply over these short three years and I'm overjoyed they can continue to be present in your and our lives through your passion! I know I get emotional any time one of your comics ends but thank you again Tammy!!!!!!
