Within this tutorial you'll find:
-One (1) 90 minute video lecture. Watch the process in 1080p beginning with warmup studies, through gesture and lay-in, and all the way to a painterly finish. Includes six (6) voiceover demos, each with a distinct focus. (DOWNLOAD the video to view in HD. Streaming is only 480p.)
-Two (2) written tutorials that supplement the video lecture. One focuses on taking you through the entire process of a new portrait, the other focuses on compositional tips and tricks. It has an emphasis on framing and focal areas.
-Two (2) brush packs. 17 brushes total. Watch me use them in the video lecture and then use the brushes in your own work, royalty free.
-Three (3) psd files to pick apart and learn from.Β
***Brushes compatible with CC, likely also compatible with everyone's CS6, will not be compatible with CS5 and below***

Is it possible to get the same effects out of SAI, without the brush pack? I desperately want to purchase, but I'm not sure if you're videos show only techniques compatible with CC (which I did have a copy of that came with my tablet (thanks to the best buy kid who shelved my model under the sticker worth $200 less!) but since I was so intimidated by it, I went right back to Sai, and now it's trapped on my desktop with no working USB ports ;.; ) Or if I'll be able to gain a decent amount of theory regardless of what program I use.Β

You could still learn a lot from a tutorial like this even if it is based in a program you don't have. Obviously the brushes and PSD files won't work without the program, but the tutorial itself is just art knowledge and theory(specifically revolving around animal portraits). That can be applied to any medium
Is it worth buying if you don't have access to the additional resources you're paying for? Well, that's up to you. This is assuming you didn't realize that already! Haha, well my comment still stands for anyone coming across it thinking they absolutely need tutorials in their specific program to learn(unless it's a technical tutorial for that program), a mistake I see quite often sometimes.

I just bought this a few hours ago and had a quick look through everything but the brushes and video because I had to leave for class, but from what I've seen so far, I'm very impressed with the clarity of your tutorials and how helpful they are to the way I work. Hi! I just bought the tutorial and I'm looking forward to learning from it. I have a question about the video tutorial brushes though; do they only work with Photoshop CC? I have Photoshop CS5 and it says they're not compatible with it.

Unfortunately I don't think they'll work with anything before CS6. I wish photoshop was better with backwards compatibility. If accessing CS6 or above is feasible for you, shoot me an email tamberella@gmail.com and I'll try to assist you in working out a solution

I'm actually really happy I purchased this ( along with a couple of others ), This was really enjoyable to go through. My boy recently passed away and just being able to go through everything made me feel so inspired to draw him and his wonderful quirks. There's something rather calming about your tutorials, I normally cannot stand most But you explain things nicely and seeing how you work makes me want to learn. So thanks very much for all these! I just wanted to say I posted this for my artist friends on Facebook and suggested they get it.
Within an hour I received a message from a friend telling me to check my email, and she had purchased this for me. I'm so overwhelmed and grateful, and thank you for putting this out there!
Unfortunately I have no way to utilize or view any of it. My Macbook Pro died last year, my Intuos stopped working and the Bamboo another friend gifted me was stolen as I was homeless for a short time. I hope that by saving it to my Dropbox I can finally access it some day and absorb all of that awesome advice!Β I am using a VERY old brick Toshiba laptop that runs Windows XP and is solely for job applications and VERY minor things since I do not use Windows and it can't run Photoshop nor do the speakers or headphone jack work for sound.
REGARDLESS I am so excited and happy I was able to do more than just pine over this, again thank you for posting.

So it's been over a year and I'm in a better place in life, I purchased a nice old used Mac Mini to get me by and have a Wacom again and Photoshop ... I had forgotten all about receiving this gift--oops--so I downloaded it finally and I am watching the video now and just am in awe. Your commentary is concise but descriptive, your flow is wonderful, and your explanations for WHY you take certain actions help so much. Thank you for this, I hope to be able to afford more of your tutorials in the future and I look forward to studying what you've offered and using these tips and skills to better my own work. I'm certain I will learn lots from it, you are a very skilled artist and it's so generous of you to share your hard work with us so we may benefit as well. I know being an artist can be competitive but I also believe in encouraging others to do their best as well, so if there's something I can do that they can't I don't mind helping them understand how I do it if it means more artists out there will continue to create!

I can't offer this one separately but I do have a fur brush pack on my Gumroad thats separate! I'm trying not to split up the stuff offered in these packs too much.Β I do plan to release more separate brush packs in the future as well, I'll definitely post here on dA if I do.
