I highly recommend if you like shrines and japanese culture.

My next trip i was thinking Kyoto, and maybe Nagasaki. I do want to see  Mt. Fuji, and keep taking lots of pictures! You know, when i tell people i've been to Japan many times, they think i'm crazy.

I never went to see Mt. Fuji too O______O hahahahahaha
Because I always go on Winter... you can't visit there.

I've seen by Yokohama.

You can't see Fuji-san in winter? Whose dumb idea was that? The travel agency I go to has offered me a tour, and i'd get to see  it from a distance. that's not so bad.

tamiresyasmin In reply to dalek-hal [2014-08-23 18:34:18 +0000 UTC]

Oh, you can. But you can't visit. That's what my father told me, I don't know.

From some distance is good too. But it's kinda far away from my father's house.

well...I'll see what happens next April. If i can get a good tour, I'll go visit as close as i can to Fuji. At least get a picture. I still have to decide where i want to go to.

Oh, you didn't know i was an Otaku? i thought it was obvious ! ^^ I'd always been interested in Japan, but i was this anime, "the Melancholy of  Haruhi Suzumiya", and then something clicked. I wanted to go to Japan. And i've been going ever since. It's all her fault!
You like anime? What ones do you like?

That's quite a list! You've seen all of these? Which ones did you like best? Which ones would you recommend? Which ones would you say, Phew, that series stinks! Don't ever watch!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

tamiresyasmin In reply to dalek-hal [2014-08-27 19:25:08 +0000 UTC]

There are a lot of favourites.
Hahahahaha
I highly recommend Steins;Gate, Code Geass and Monster.
Never watch Amnesia. It's annoying. But there's no much I hated because I always search about a anime before I watch it.

What about you?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

dalek-hal In reply to tamiresyasmin [2014-08-28 09:22:16 +0000 UTC]

I haven't seen Stein's Gate or Code Geass. I've heard good things about them. Is Amnesia the one about a girl ghost who tries to solve her own murder? I usually read a bit about a series before i watch it. I know some people say Anime is so great, but there's lots that just stink or even worse, are super boring!
Me, i like  Slice of life anime and comedies. Stuff that's cheerful and upbeat. I'm not nearly as into action animes. I like super heroes and space adventures, and I've watched a lot of the shows from 70s to the present. want a brief list?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

tamiresyasmin In reply to dalek-hal [2014-08-28 16:16:13 +0000 UTC]

It's amazing!!!
Amnesia... You caught me. I don't remember. I do remember that I hated the main character. OMG... so annoying.

Yes, your list, please!!

dalek-hal In reply to tamiresyasmin [2014-08-29 10:45:11 +0000 UTC]

I watched the series at a friend's house. It was just this dull cliche ridden mess. I forget about most of it, that's how good it was!  It's like a copy of Kannagi...
My list? There's probably a lot you haven't heard of . I've seen hundreds of shows, from the 60s to the present. Here are a few that i really like .    The Sixties...Astroboy, Tetsujin 28, Sally the Witch...70s  Kagaku ninja Tai Gatchaman, Mazinger Z,Shinzo ningen Casshan, Space cruiser Yamato, Captain Harlock, Rose of Versaille,Lyrical Nanoha,  Gundam ,Yusha Raideen, UFO Robo Grendizer, Heidi of the Alps, The dog of Flanders, Ashita no Joe...80s..Macross, Voltron, Urasei Yatsura,Space Cobra, Catseye, Yatterman, Hokuto no Ken...let's just skip ahead!  Shows closer to the present- Azumanga Daioh, Lucky Star, Aria, Emma, Antique Bakery, Sora no Woto, K-On !,Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya,Ichigo Marshmallow, Gakuen Alice, Queen's Blade, Strike Witches, Pani Poni Dash!, Watamote, Kiniro Mosaic, Space cruiser Yamato 2199, and my current favorite, Bokuha Tomodachiga Sukunai . I really like the last one.  All these are series i can watch over and over.
Oh. and ALL the Studio Ghibli films!

 Heidi of the Alps!
That's the only one I know from your list. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Oh, and  Bokuha Tomodachiga Sukunai. That one is amazing. I saw the live action on the movies when I was in Japan. It's nice.
And of course, all of the Studio Ghibli films.

dalek-hal In reply to tamiresyasmin [2014-09-01 16:36:01 +0000 UTC]

well at least you found something. I've been watching Heide. I think her theme song is wonderful. It sounds like Angels are singing it. I was doing some Heide sketches off the T.V, She's really cute, and when playing on her swing she must be what, a thousand feet in the air?
Bokuha Tomodachiga Sukunai...I really love this show. My favorite characters are Rika and Sena, But i like all of them. It's like trying to decide what your favorite part of a cake is.
Did you see the live action version? How was it? I heard lots of complaints about it, because the actors don't look like the anime characters. Sena wasn't breasty enough.Kodaka was too girly looking...But none of these critics actually SAW  the movie. You saw it. What did you think?

tamiresyasmin In reply to dalek-hal [2014-09-02 01:15:54 +0000 UTC]

I love Heidi!! She's so sweet. Love the Swiss too. So it's perfect.
Show me the sketches hahaha.

Well... It's good. Kind of different from the original story.
The actors have nothing to do with the characters, indeed. But that's not exactly a problem because for me, what really matters is the story. But anyway, I had some fun watching it. My sister too.

you really want to see the Heidi sketches? I was doing them  during the episodes at the opening, when she has been left with grandfather and has to win him over, because he's such a bitter old man. i altered the style somewhat because i don't draw like that show.  when you watch it, you can see the beginnings of Ghibli.

Tamires..... I don't know how to thank you for picture and all of the other pictures you've put out. I don't know if I've told you this before but I am currently going through Depression. I am a man of Honor, and a warrior (having served in the Marines and seen much battle). And before I became depressed I was able to take deep breaths and feel the air go through my lounges and feel it permeate my brain, I could feel like a warrior again. I deeply love Japan. It's beauty. It's history of great warriors. It's culture. The great animes that it puts out that touch me deeply. All of these things are dear to me and these are the things that make me feel amazing. I have not felt like that in a good while. I have been somewhat distant to the country that I believe is my true home....... that is until I saw your photos. You have given a good portion of my original feelings back to me with these pictures. Thank you ever so much my friend. Thank you.

Oh my God... I'm very surprised to read this comment.
I had no idea that I could give you these kinds of feelings... I'm the one who is happy for being able to give you this.
All the pleasure is all mine...
Because I also love Japan.
And about your depression... don't give up on you. I'm here if you want to talk or something like that.
But do things that makes you happy, distract your mind, try hard. But don't give up.

I'm going to upload more pictures soon. ^^
And thank YOU. You don't have to thank me... I'm glad if I can make you a little bit happy.
