It was rainy season in Midorijima. It's been about a week since it started and the air finally smelled clean. It usually did take a week for all the grunge, dust and residue accumulated over the year to wash away.

You had mixed feelings about rainy season. On one hand, it gave the city a much needed shower and made the air smell amazing. On the other hand, the storms were violent and the loudest thing the island ever experiences. In a word; terrifying.

You walked along Miyagi Street, trying to protect your package and keep hold of your umbrella at the same time. This was a con of this season, all couriers would get soaked. Thankfully this was the last package for the day.

"Oi! Miss delivery lady!" You hear a voice from your left and see a boy that usually hangs around here. You think his name might be Rei. "Sorry if I scared ya, you takin' somthin' ta Mizuki?" You nod. You're normally more polite but this boy is more than a little nosy. "I could take it for ya so ya can get outta the rain." You smile thankfully but shake your head. "Oh. Okay. Be careful, miss." You nod again and head towards the Black Needle. You'd normally go to the alley where Mizuki sat, but it was pouring water and not even Mizuki would stay outside in this weather.

You rapped on the door and stepped inside, trying to close your umbrella one-handed. You wet your lips and blow one clear whistle. There were a couple regulars in the bar, as well as a new face, er, mask. "Hey!" Mizuki pops up from beneath the bar. "[Name]! Another package?" You nod, shaking out your umbrella. "Holy cow... It's really pouring outside. Do you have any more jobs?" Nope. "Good. You can stay here until you're warmed up again." Thank you but no. Sign here please. "Oh sweet! It's the new set of needles! Are you sure you don't wanna stay?" Yeah. "Well, be careful." I will.

Outside, the rain is coming down even harder. Great. There's no way you'll be able to walk all the way home. Maybe there will actually be a bus? You detour to the nearest bus station and cross your fingers. Nope, there's a soaked poster saying 'Transportation canceled until further notice' So you're walking home, then.

"What are you doing here?" You whip your head around, surprised. It was that Ruff Rabbit boy that helped you a month back.

"You're really walking around alone. You're tempting fate. Especially someone who looks like you." Was...was he complimenting you or insulting you?

Well, what do you expect me to do? Not leave the house ever? You ignore him and start walking back to your apartment. Your roommate probably won't be home so you don't have to cook for two.

"I'm coming with you." You do a double-take. He just won't leave you alone! You sigh and shift your umbrella to the other hand so Noiz won't be rained on. Though he can't get any wetter at this point.

Looks like you are cooking for two after all.

You unlock the door and take your umbrella back from Noiz. You scoot him inside and shake it and yourself off.

"Why were you outside?" He was dripping with water. A droplet ran down his nose and jumped. He didn't even blink.

You pick up a notepad from the table by the door and scribble 'i have a job unlike you. why do you keep talking about repaying me?'

"You showed me an easier way to escape. I thought escorting you should be enough to make us even." He looks so very serious, its a little funny. You make a short 'pfff' sound and flap your hand dismissively. No need to repay me.

"Why are you trying to keep me in debt?" If you were drinking anything, you probably would have just choked on it. You shake your head, what is with this kid!?

You shake your head and shrug, I am not you crazy person.

He stares at you, he seems to do that a lot, then leans forward and presses his lips to yours.

Okay, this is one weird habit, if a mildly pleasant one, wait is that his tongue?

You brace your hands on his shoulders and push. "What?" You hold up a single finger and retrieve the notepad from the counter. 'why do you keep kissing me?' He reads the scribble and replies by fingerspelling. "How else do I repay those favors? Besides, I wasn't planning to stop at kissing."

You stare. He stares back.

"Where did you learn that? You said you couldn't understand me when we first met."

"I didn't like not understanding. So I looked it up and taught myself."

"Just like that? You're a strange one."

"I'm not strange."

"You're kissing a complete stranger." You close your eyes and massage the bridge of your nose. "And I'm mute, not deaf. Are you hungry?" You decided you were going to end this thread of conversation. Noiz seems taken off guard. You start getting together ingredients for fried rice.

"What?" Poor thing, he actually looks lost. "Food. Want?" His face hardens. "What do you want." You raise an eyebrow. "You're being way too nice to me for there to be no motive." There goes the other eyebrow. You scribble quickly on a notepad, hand it to him and start cooking. It's not very smart to cook and sign at the same time. 'all I want is for you to eat, sleep and go away'

"Sleep?" You nod as the food sizzles. "Couch." Noiz's eyes narrow. "Fine." You think that's the end of it and lose yourself in making sure the rice doesn't burn.

A pair of arms wrap themselves around you. He brushed your hair out of the way and started pressing surprisingly chaste kisses to your neck.

You pop him in the nose with a wooden spoon. He doesn't let go. You huff. Really?

"You're being 'nice' to me. So let me return the favor. Wasn't it pleasant?" You turn, huffing and dislodging his arms. Both of you have a staredown. He's probably not going to give up. You place a hand on either side of his face and give him a quick peck on the lips.

You pick up one of the plates on the counter, spoon some rice onto it and place it in his hands. "Be careful. It's really hot." He grudgingly accepts.

Both of you eat in silence, a temporary truce. He finishes pretty quickly and looks at you.

"I know how you can repay me." Oh? "And what, pray tell, might that be?"

"Sleep with me." He stops your hands from moving and holds them together. His grip is really strong. "As a stuffed animal."

You stop trying to free your hands and he releases them. You're tired at this point and, honestly, just want him to shut up. It is pretty late. "Okay, still creepy, but fine. But not with all that pokey stuff." You side-eye the many pins on the front of his shirt and the giant one on his hat. "Fine." He takes off the hat and tosses it on the counter, revealing fluffy peach hair. It was full of static. Okay that was really cute.

"It's the very back room." He nods and walks off, concentrated on his shirt-collar.

You put the dishes in the sink and follow Noiz. You stop. You remember something one of your friends gave you last Easter. It's sitting in the storage closet right now.

Should you play a joke on him? Is it really worth the bunny ears? Yes. Yes it is. He wanted a toy animal? He's gonna get one.

You retrieved said item and put it on your head. It was just as silly as you remember. Ah well. You head back to the bedroom.

He'd removed his outer shirt, the one with all the pins, and just made himself at home on your bed.

You knocked on the wall to let him know you were there, it might have been a longer day then you thought. You were yawning fit to pop your jaw out of place.

He looks up and his eyes widen. He wraps his arms around your ribcage and falls back into bed with you.

A soundless yelp comes out of your throat. Why would you do that?! "Cute..." What? You're sure your face is red. Whadda mean 'cute'!?

He's already asleep. Ah well. You relax, he probably didn't mean much by it.

He was really warm, almost fever warm. You hope he's not sick. 'He's really comfortable.' Is your last thought before drifting off.
