First off, I used a stock for the pose. This guy: [link] . For clarity, I should mention that this isn't a manipulation.
I also used some random photos of fire off of google to help with the flames.
The character here is named (obviously) Illar. 99% of the time, he's freakishly cheerful. He'd probably keep smiling if you punched him in the face. On the rare occasion that you do get on his nerves, he loses control and unleashes his fire magic. When he was young, he was sent to an insane asylum for people with dangerous or uncontrolled magical abilities, where the doctors gave him various treatments to help him suppress his emotions. One of his cellmates (a guy with a blood obsession and powers to match), kidnapped him later on, and tried to sacrifice him and two of the only people who ever trusted him to a demon lord in hopes of stealing his fire powers. This made Illar mad, and therefore, this picture. The symbol on his chest is the symbol of Zhakadath, the demon lord of hellfire.
EDIT: Added my symbol, cropped it a bit, enlarged it a bit, and added something of a background where there used to be just blank black space.
