Description

To celebrate over 50,000 page views I would like to present instructions on how I create 3D mesh objects using JWildfire and would like to thank all those that have viewed my work.

I wrote this walkthrough using JWildfire version 1.03

The zip file contains a simple pdf with step by step instructions.

To create the 3D objects you will also need a copy of Fiji ImageJ (available from fiji.sc/Fiji) and a copy of MeshLab (available from meshlab.sourceforge.net/).

A few examples of 3D mesh objects I have created using this method can be found at the following:

I would like to thank you all again for viewing my work and wish you happy rendering

Nic Anderson is also doing some 3D renders from JWildfire using POVray

Thanks - I've had a quick look at Nic's work and looks like it will be amazing judging from the examples.

Thanks I would have released it earlier but was still bug-testing the Apophysis version.

I may look at writing a script for JWildfire but the built-in animation routines are sufficient for most users imo.

Woot let me know how you get on.

Quick tip, while testing use basicΒ fractals with lots of gaps - I tried a more complex one and the 3D mesh was over 0.5gb in size....

I will do that for sure, and thanks for the tip.

I am in the middle of a project with my 1st organic type 3D model once I am Β through I am anxious to give your method a try

Your welcome.Β This could be adapted for any other program that can generate an image / sequence of images, obviously skipping the JWildfire section. I have produced 3D meshes using this method with quite a few different programs including Tierzon, Gimp and even Photoshop.
