Description 130820-A-VB845-230

U.S. Army soldiers assigned to the 55th Signal Company (Combat Camera), conduct Military Operations
in Urban Terrain (MOUT) training during a Field Training Exercise at Fort Indiantown Gap, Pa., Aug. 19,
2013. MOUT training teaches soldiers proper stacking procedures for entering and clearing buildings
during operations overseas. (U.S. Army photo by Sgt. Kristina Truluck/Released)

Took these guys a few times to get used to seeing me laying on the floor taking photos
every time they breached. After hanging together all week, they should've known better.

My military imagery is available for public domain. As the photographer, I don't have control over
how you may use it, but I ask that it be done with respect to the individuals represented here.

Love these action shots because it's like watching what's going on while being there.

You definitely captured the essence of actions and because of that, it does make a good visual impact. I like what you've done with getting this particular angle to convey motion and action.

Thank you for sharing this image. I enjoyed seeing it and hope you have more to share sometime soon.

And now it's time for filler words to make the word count thingy go to zero so I can post this. I apologize for having to add this filler paragraph in here for your review.

Thank you again for sharing.

I haven't.  Just looked it up and it sounds badass!  If only the unit would let us go there.  Dx

Well the lead instructor is ex Air Force I think, but the second-in-command is a former Green Beret. We only knew him by the name "Bravo" lol they were intense!

I like how you managed to capture the guy on the right mid-step, giving it a sense of motion. I like how the other guy is smirking at you.

I've been looking all over the net for a good ref pic to draw, and this is just exactly what i've been looking for. Thank you!

Sweet!  Glad I could help ya.  If you need any more reference, I have quite a few similar to this one (and you can find tons of better photos) on DVIDS .

Thanks!  It's been my goal to get one of these shots.  I was finally able to pull out of the stacks this round and get some time behind the camera.

I LOVED MOUT training during our AIT. One time, our instructor had our groups split up to clear the building and then we almost shot each other (with blanks) when both teams coincidentally opened the door, which led to a mini hallway next to the exit. Then I saw a door that neither of our teams cleared, so we stacked up, and on the count of 3, I kicked in the door and our instructor (who no one noticed disappeared) pops out and scares one of our privates who double tapped him with blanks. Ahhhhh man... Good times.

It must have been great weather to be doing MOUT training that day!!

Me, too!  I think part of it is because when we use OPFOR, it's another excuse to beat one another up.
Nice!  Hopefully the instructor learned his lesson.  I just surprised these guys when I was laying on the floor taking shots.
It was and it wasn't.  Too hot for body armor, so we just played without, thankfully.

Out of curiosity, are a photographer in the army or a soldier who takes photographs?

Both?

I'm a combat cameraman, though unfortunately stuck behind a desk more often than not these days.
