It's a 3d package. It's pretty popular, and is used by lots of film and game studios.

Cause when i was in TAFE we used Lightwave cause my teacher said professionals used it, he used to use it to make car models for car companies

I first learned Maya at TAFE, but it mostly comes down to personal preference. The same 3D principles apply whether you're using 3DS MAX, Maya, Lightwave etc:-

What TAFE did you go to? Did you do a 3D course there?

I went to Vic Uni and did Cert IV in Multimedia, which had mixed subjects and one of them was 3D development.

I used Blender at first but then found Lightwave easier to use.
