Description Ganesh Festival, Mumbai, India

This spectacular festival took place which involves carrying statues of the Hindu god Ganesh into the sea.

It's so surreal and loads of fun, despite the ridiculous amounts of pollution it causes.

what is the red dust all over the men carrying the statue? is it blood? which would be wierd cause I thought Kali was the only Goddess that had blood sacrifices....

Nuh its a sort of powder used for religious purposes in Hinduism, its made of turmeric methinks.
