Description Me and my husband in our steampunk outfits at Anime Boston 2010!

His coat is made from a Simplicity costume pattern, and the green brocade vest was made from a standard vest pattern, modified with a yoke to accommodate the fact that he's too tall for the regular pattern. The brown wool pants were a Goodwill find, and they're tucked into black leather Swiss military gaiters that go over regular black shoes. All of the leather belts and pouches are also from Goodwill, and I made a lapel pin for him out of gears and buttons.

My skirt was made from a Truly Victorian pattern, with decorative strips of bias cut (never again!) fabric piped in burgundy. I made the bustier from a Butterick pattern, modified to do paneling and to make a faux-vest bottom line. The leather jacket is from Wet Seal or one of those teen stores, and all I had to do was crop it a little further for length to make it a bolero. The leather belt was $1.99 at Goodwill and the pouch is a Renaissance Fair purchase from way back. The hat is one of my own creations!

I absolutely adore your skirt despite the pain of the bias cut fabric. It totally paid off C:
