I've never even considered developing the shadows WITH the "highlights" while working on a piece, but seeing as how I always alter the shadows after adding in the light this makes so much sense to me.
Thank you so much for sharing the progress of this beautiful piece with us. It's made me realize something I should have seen a long time ago!
